Hmmm, not exactly beat up hoop dees, are they?

How much does it cost to park these babies?

They can't afford housing, food, or medical insurance...

But they can afford cars, insurance, and $340 a year for parking?

Link up.

Oh those e-e-e-vul librals. Bet those s.o.b's also pushed for indoor plumbing and central heating. The poor don't deserve such "luxury" as updated accommodations.

False dichotomy. Lame, even for you.

The amount you "subsidize" is a fraction of a fraction of a fraction. When you're put in charge you can issue edits from your ceremonial chair about who should or shouldn't have a car.

If it's so little, it won't be missed. Please refund.

I drive past low-income housing regularly. Maybe next time I'll cruise through the "expansive" parking lot and count the "Escalades."

No you don't. Because if you ever came near them you'd know what I'm saying is the truth. Heck, that picture above was such a shock to you that you needed a link before you'd believe it.

False dichotomy? "I do not think it means what you think it means."

How much do you think you should get back? Let's say for a year of "subsidizing."

Yes, I do, and it's immaterial to me whether you believe it or not. Actually, I don't expect you to believe anything I say.

False dichotomy? "I do not think it means what you think it means."

Yeah, i do. As in "if they don't deserve cable and internet, then they obviously don't deserve heat and indoor plumbing."

How much do you think you should get back? Let's say for a year of "subsidizing."

You brought up how little it is. You tell me. I'm assuming you know. Whatever it is, I want it back. Can you arrange that?

What do you need a link for? It says NYCHA right there in the photo; New York City Housing Authority.

The part where none of the people living in this place contribute a single cent towards their housing, food, medical insurance, cars, insurance, and $340 a year for parking. That it's all coming out of your pocket.

the either-or fallacy....what do you think it means.....?

People deserve anything and everything they can afford when it comes to creature comforts....gov. should see that you get what
you NEED to SURVIVE.....and that sure don't include free cellphones and free service.

Lifeline started during the reagan administration. Were you bitching like this during the 16 years it was in effect under repub presidents?

Why didn't bushes senior and junior dismantle the program?

Oh sure, I'll give you that link. As soon as you show me where I said they don't pay for any of it.

You oughtta strap down that jerkin' liberal of yours when reading.

If you look through the thread I think you'll see I use the word "subsidized" numerous times.

Send me your 1040 from last year and I'll see what I can do. Heck, just tell me and I'll pay you out of my own pocket.

You're the one who wrote "They can't afford housing, food, or medical insurance...But they can afford cars, insurance, and $340 a year for parking?" and I don't see any qualifiers in there like "without help."

They can't afford housing, so it has to be subsidized. Duhhhh.

Funny, they can foot the entire cost of a car, car insurance, and parking space though.

Isn't that odd?

It's not odd to people who think a car is a necessity rather than a luxury.

Raise wages, let's get those people out of the projects and into the rapidly shrinking middle class.

Not in NYC. A car is definitely a luxury.

Nevertheless, the only thing you've proven is that the people in subsidized housing can't afford to pay the going rate of rent. Everything else you said about food, medical care, cars etc. is supposition. Maybe once they got housing aid, they were able to afford the rest.

I bet you also hate the people living in rent-controlled buildings too, huh.

Nevertheless, the only thing you've proven is that the people in subsidized housing can't afford to pay the going rate of rent.

To the contrary, I've proven that "the poor" in NYC are being subsidized up to a middle-class lifestyle that includes nice cars, reserved parking, cable television, and high-speed internet.

Is there an articulable reason that they can not forego the cars, parking spaces, cable TV, and internet to pay the going rate of rent?

You haven't "proven" it because correlation doesn't imply causation.

You've proven the building is wired for cable and internet. You haven't proven that everyone who lives in it has cable and internet.

You've proven that the developers added big parking lots to the complex. You haven't proven that everyone in the complex has a car in the lot.
