Unbelievable, bravs. We have almost five years of togetherness on this forum and you STILL don't get me. Women are from Venus, men are from Mars.

This particular thread applies to Forrest but I don't care if it's Forrest, Meade, Sherman, Lee or any of the others. These people were responsible for the worst slaughter of Americans in the country's history. 620,000 good Americans died in a civil war, not an enemy attack. Brother v. brother, family v. family. Why can't you acknowledge the horror of this?

You can push out reams of material about NBF but you've completely missed the point. These people only deserve to be footnotes in history, not honored with buildings, statues or their picture on our currency.

It would be a refreshing change to see some of you honor more peacemakers and fewer warmongers, but my cynicism says that's not likely.

I'll believe Christie cares about naming things after people who did "bad" things when she campaigns to change the name of this school:

Ahh political correctness rears its ugly head once again.

Three-quarters of a million Americans killing each other and you think this deserves honor?

New Estimate Raises Civil War Death Toll

"For 110 years, the numbers stood as gospel: 618,222 men died in the Civil War, 360,222 from the North and 258,000 from the South — by far the greatest toll of any war in American history. But new research shows that the numbers were far too low.

By combing through newly digitized census data from the 19th century, J. David Hacker, a demographic historian from Binghamton University in New York, has recalculated the death toll and increased it by more than 20 percent — to 750,000."

I know she's really old, but the way she whines about Civil War casualties you'd think her daddy was killed in the war to free Blacks from the Democrats.

Truman had far more deaths on his hands when he ordered Hiroshima and Nagasaki to become glow in the dark parking lots (wish we could have done that to Moscow at that time, though).

Well guess what. I totally agree with you on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Truman should have been indicted for war crimes. The ugly truth about H & N is just now starting to come out.

Yeah, really old. And don't forget fat, ugly, bad hair, no style, and falling-down drunk on vodka every night.

You're pathetic.

One thing. I said Moscow should have been nuked. this way communism would not be able to rear its ugly head the way it did.
