more police brutality accepted by american apathy

the kid tells the cop to shut up, cop drags him out and beats on him while others just stand around.

how many here think the kid deserved it for not being obedient?

Just a little more info:
A St. Louis police officer working off-duty at a gas station is under investigation after this video of him macing and batoning one of the station's patrons on New Year's Eve surfaced. The officer has a history of excessive force.P
I hate to make this police brutality day, but after seeing the video it's hard not to post it. We can't see what happened before the altercation occurred, but the gas station owner says the off-duty officer is Dustin Ries, who has permission to work security for the gas station.

According to the owner, the individual who was on the end of the beating was clearly drunk and acting up and the man's friends and Ries escorted him out of the gas station. Why Ries decided to pull the young man out of the car, mace him, and then hit him with his baton seven times is also unclear. All we know is the person shooting the video hears the guy in the car tell Officer Ries to "shut up."

The witnesses who shot the video say there was unnecessary force, the gas station owner says the beating was justified because the man was holding on to the officer's ankles. The police are investigating Ries, who has to prior excessive force incidents in his record, both involving use of a baton and mace.

a cops job is not to PUNISH.

that is NOT in their job description.

You have guns and you hate cops

You like to swing your gun arround like its your cock.

your no better than these cops you idiot

yes desh, i post about all misconduct and brutality cases I find no matter the race of individuals involved, so you're left with nothing but false racism. YOU are the reason why racism will never die.

so USF says brutality was justified for holding ankles. got it.

any others?
bullshit, kid was prolly holding on for his dear life.

All the cop had to do was disengage, why was the kid beaten repeatedly, and pepper -sprayed?

That isn't resisting, it's getting mauled by a cop

you first. i need to see the relevancy, not wait for you to explain it to me.

You cannot possibly comprehend my point or relevancy if you have never had children. Your myopic views about society and police suggest someone who is young and lacking any experience dealing with people or children.

If you have a defiant and unruly child that refuses to do what you ask of them; what do you do? Do you discipline them or do you just ignore it and tell them they have the right to be defiant?

If you have an unruly citizen that refuses to obey the law and comply with instructions what do you do? Do you force them into submission or just ignore it and say that it is a citizen’s right to refuse to comply with the law?

The world you argue for would lead to outright chaos and decline. You cannot have a stable society if laws are to be disobeyed and citizens can do whatever they feel like. Liberty is important; but it also comes at a price. That price is abiding by our laws and respecting those who are trying to uphold it. There are better ways to deal with abusive officers which will not end in forceful methods.

You are incredibly naive and ignorant if you think that someone can just flip officers of the law off and shoot them if they try to uphold those laws. Are there abuses? Absolutely and they must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Does this mean we should call police pigs and condone shooting them? No; that's just repugnantly stupid.

I am not clear on what your agenda is; but if it is anarchy, it is just as dimwitted as someone who declares total allegiance to Socialist Governance.

for your information I have two stepkids I've raised since they were 6 and 8. I have an adult daughter that I adopted when she was 14. I also have a 12 year old girl who calls me daddy because she doesn't know her own. so in my mind, I have kids. I've had to discipline them from time to time, but you are comparing apples to sunflower seeds with kids and cops.

spoken like a true statist.

If it becomes necessary to kill the former officer at that time to prevent further injury or death, so be it. going by your viewpoint on submitting to authority, do you also then suggest that there is no right to resist rape if a cop is doing it?
