Chicago lowest murder rate in 50 years!

Another interesting statistic from the study concerns gun ownership and homicide rates in the U.S. compared to the rest of the world. “Compared with other developed nations, the U.S. has a higher homicide rate and higher rates of gun ownership, but not higher rates for all other crimes,” the Pew study says.

Another interesting statistic shows that the United States has, per capita, the highest rate of pukey eggheaded liberals making excuses and rationalizing violent behavior and murders.

[h=1]2 dead, 6 wounded across city[/h]
Two men were fatally shot and six other people were injured in attacks across the city Monday, authorities said.

The first attack occurred around 10:35 a.m. Monday when two men were shot in the 1100 block of West Glenlake Avenue on the Far North Side, according to Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

Mensa G. Kifle, 20, was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead at 11:27 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. His home was listed in the 6000 block of North Albany Avenue.

The othe man was taken in serious to critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight.

A source said the person who began shooting at the men may have been in a wheelchair.

Ken Anderson, who owns the Lickity Split Frozen Custard & Sweets shop, 6056 N. Broadway, said the business has been open for nearly three years and the area has been quiet compared to further south in the Uptown neighborhood. He said he was in the shop when he saw three men, including one in a wheelchair, speaking to each other.

"It happened so fast ... there was some type of altercation, gunshots and we saw the two guys running west," said Anderson, who said they called police from the custard shop.

A man doing work at the restaurant tried to help the person in the wheelchair, who may have been shot in the hand or wrist, Anderson said.

He said the area has improved in the nearly three years the shop has been open. "It's amazingly quiet, there's some elements but it's changed tremendously in three years," he said.

In a shooting in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, a 16-year-old boy was wounded in the arm, police said.

The teen was shot shortly before 2 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said. The teen walked into the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was being treated, police said.

At about 4 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg in the 12100 block of South State Street in the West Pullman neighborhood, according to police and fire officials. The teen was taken to Roseland Hospital in fair-to-serious condition, officials said.

In the 2000 block of West 37th Street in the McKinley Park neighborhood, a 25-year-old man was stabbed at 4:35 p.m., according to police. The man was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

At 5:15 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the abdomen in the 11300 block of South Edbrooke Avenue in the Roseland neighborhood, officials said. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, where he was pronounced dead at 6:37 p.m., officials said. The medical examiner's office identified him as Jeremy Bafunsho.

About the same time, a 35-year-old man was shot in the hand in the 200 block of North Francisco Avenue during a robbery. Someone approached him and demanded money and the two struggled before the 35-year-old was shot. He walked into Mount Sinai Hospital with the wound and is in stable condition.

A 15-year-old was also shot in the hip Monday night about 9:30. He was taken to Comer Children's Hospital with a wound to his hip. Police said he and two others were walking in the 9200 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when someone fired at them from inside a black car that fled north on St. Lawrence.

The Chicago Tribune gives a nice detail of every murder in the city, per month.

http://crime.chicagotribune.com/chicago/homicides

Chicago's murder stats are practically the same as New York City's.

However, NYC has a population of 8.3 million whereas Chicago only has 2.7 million.
Our whole Country has few more, but our murder rate is very low indeed. It is the lack of guns, gun-nuts and Americans, no doubt. We tried trying to establish liberty with guns back at the time of the Chartist March on Newport. Doesn't work.

Oops....Another big push before the end of the year...which brings it to 392
