MI veto-proof ‘rape insurance’ close to becoming law w/ 4.2% voter approval

what makes you think I'm in favor of paying for Viagra?......since I'm not, you don't have a point.....as for prostrate exams, I don't get breast exams either.....

why not?

just like the birth control pill is used to improve parts of peoples lives that DONT involve anything to do with sex.

If your healthcare covers maternity for others then it should cover abortion.

YOU don't get to chose for others what their lives are about

that's the point, isn't it?......I no longer get to choose who's pool of shared expenses I get to share?........

then you would be wrong.....the only reason this process was available under our constitution was because it had been passed by Congress and vetoed by the governor.....

Several Democratic women lawmakers became emotional during debates on Wednesday as they told personal stories of miscarriage and abortion, and State Rep. David Knezek (D) blasted the measure as misogynistic.

"This body made up of 80 percent men will make a decision that will impact 100 percent of women," he said.

??...before ACA I was able to "spread my costs" among those who faced similar expenses.....I've never had dental insurance my entire life and paid for my care out of my own pocket, now that I'm sixty I have no choice but a policy that spreads a cost to me that I will never ever incur.....

would desh agree with spreading the costs of firearms ownership by having her pay a fee to help buy someone a gun?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, if so feel free to explain. It sounds like the measure is going to be enacted without being put to a vote. Yes? No?

"The article says "the group Michigan Right to Life had enough signature for the legislature to take up the measure. The group turned in 315,477 signatures, but only 258,088 — or 3 percent of the state’s voters — were needed."

Snyder vetoed a similar bill last year, but Michigan’s constitution does not give him the authority to sign or veto legislative initiatives.

...Michigan Right to Life spokesperson Pam Sherstad insisted to the Detroit Free Press that the measure would pass if it was taken up by the legislature because a majority of the lawmakers had already signed the petition that was turned into the Secretary of State."
No, it means it becomes a ballot initiative and the voters of the State will decide.

Policies cancelled and reissued according to the new minimum guidelines. A major point that everyone fails to address.

Technically all my insurance policies (health, auto, homeowner) get "cancelled" every year and replaced with what the company wants me to have for the new year, and I don't have much choice in the matter.
