MI veto-proof ‘rape insurance’ close to becoming law w/ 4.2% voter approval

:rofl2:

I will play Desh....

The legislature represents the people, the people voted for them to serve the people, end of story..

No, that is simply the line of crap the left is trying to feed everyone. It is about ABORTION coverage. Period. Calling it 'rape insurance' is simply the way the left will sensationalize this and create a straw man to demonize the initiative.

So enough of the victim card. It is about whether or not a person should be FORCED to have abortion coverage. This initiative says NO ONE can be FORCED to have abortion coverage, but people CAN CHOOSE to have abortion coverage if they WANT IT.

I guess she lives in a totally backward state; because in AZ, the victim of a crime is taken care of by the state and face no bills from the crime. The morning afterward pill is offered to the victim at the hospital, privately, and no stigmatization is associated with it.

we haven't had that since the 19th century. where have you been?

maybe it just seems that way...of course laws or rules set in place by districts, cities, counties and states may be brought to the attention of a relevant court and if the ruling displeases whomever loses then there is the appeals process...

why does desh hate democracy????

because it does not work?

democracy may work for very small groups of people, but beyond a certain point it stops working and becomes a tyranny.

even democratic republics always leave a discontented minority or sometimes a discontented majority depending on how its constitution is interpreted...

oh well

individuals do not have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives? are you state property then?

in some cases yes. your minor children are the property of the state and the state has the last say about your fitness to raise them.

while people in prison have some rights, there are not many and states routinely violate them.

in these instances, when the courts do not do their job and uphold the constitution, the resolution MUST lie with 'we the people'.

the state may have an interest in preventing abuse and torture, but they have no say about my fitness to raise them as long as they are not being abused. any state actor intent on removing my kids because they feel i'm unfit will die.

5th Amendment. try reading it and understanding it.

and your point? you mean that prison inmates are not denied their rights in various places until some lawyer with enough time and money takes notice...

explain please

the futility of an armed insurrection in this nation

there are just not enough people willing to put their lives and their fortunes on the line for an actual rebellion or even another civil war.

there is a lot of talk, but very little action.

yes, I know this. It also happens to rely a great deal on each STATE constitution and what powers that the state has conferred upon them by the people. Thus, it is up to the states.

and which of those powers that have not been overridden by federal courts or legislation does the state grant?

yes i have read the 5th amendment and am aware of just how many times it is violated without punishment of the violator

ps i know of a case in ca where the female children were removed from a home even though it was the male children that were allegedly abuse. also, the children who were jewish were placed in a home where the foster parents were evangelical christians who insisted that the children go to their church!

i'm sure they are, but the problem doesn't lie with lawyers who don't deem it worth their time. the problem lies with we the people who seem to not really give a damn what some criminal suffers in jail/prison.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on the bolded part. most people are cowards at heart. however, what I was referring to was using the jury box and nullifying laws via acquittals.

in cases like this, sadly, it's where the people need to come together, but as you have said most people are unwilling to risk their lives. I'm simply saying that state agents coming to take my kids will be faced with death in doing so.
