QE: The greatest subsidy to the rich ever?

I still think cowack made a good case for raising taxes on the wealthy.

maybe he thought it up on the pot

The Fed has previously said they would continue with QE until unemployment reached 6.5%. Should they though considering the growth in income inequality it is promoting?

QE: The greatest subsidy to the rich ever?

Every Ferrari dealership in the country should have a framed picture of Ben Bernanke in their lobby. It should read: "Our #1 Salesman."

The largesse of the Federal Reserve over the past five years has amounted to one of the largest ever subsidies to the American wealthy—fueling record fortunes, record numbers of new millionaires and billionaires, and an unprecedented shopping spree for everything from Ferraris to Francis Bacon paintings. The prices of the assets owned by the wealthy, and the things they buy, have gone parabolic, bearing little relationship to the weak, broader economy.

etc.

I don't get it! Are you cheering or complaining, Hypocrazy? All the great conservative voices: von Hayek, von Mises, Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, CATO, Heritage and so on all stress the importance and advantages of income inequality and the disastrous effects of a commie based system of equality of outcomes. Is Hypocrazy going soft on us? First whining about the high price of apartment rents. Then saying he was happy with them. Now crying about income inequality or pretending he is or not. He's Hypocrazy, so it's hard to say what his position will actually turn out to be! Probably ultimately for it if the FED isn't involved. But it is and capitalist bankers created the FED in order to save their asses in case of a depression, and it has over and over again, so I don't know how he gets around that. He wants the government to not be involved with economic issues but the government was created to be involved with economic issues, read the damn Constitution, calling slaves 3/5th of a person for reasons of representation was an economic issue--a huge economic issue. And the most concrete evidence that the Constitution was written to protect property and to give those with property in slaves an advantage that those without slaves didn't have--more political power. So the whole government shouldn't be involved in the market is smoke and mirrors! And poppycock served up to idiots who the powers that be hope to fool. Are you happy with all this income inequality Hypocrazy or just slipping and sliding and trying to pretend you have no position. What does hypocrazy think, is he saying or just stirring the pot!

according to the right wing OP you guys just got a big subsidy.

then you should pay some big fat taxes to reimburse us with huh
Ponder this over a bowl
I may be the poorest rich person
But I have just under 200,000 in investment income
I'll pay taxes on 34,000 rest is sheltered.
My bill on 200,000 will be under 5,000
I'll reduce it more next year.
I'm taxed too much already, go after billionaires

no problem

people at your wealth level are not really who I want targeted.

pretty fuckin weird that I have more invested than you do.

Im not wealthy either

Im middle class and its my cash to supplement my SS when we get to that point.

your middle class dude just like me

It's worth mentioning that the Fed is also in the process of deliberately devaluing the dollar 2% annually, with an intended goal of a 35% devaluation over the next 20 years.

Those on fixed incomes are screwed.

where is it you said you have 2 mil?

No, they announced today that they would begin tapering in January by $10B per month.

Actually it is on the front page of this morning's New York Times which is printed in the middle of the night so the Fed must have made the announcement yesterday.

You would have been a great member of the Stasi. What a frightening comment. If only you had the self awareness to see how truly scary those words are. I am sad for you

1) What exactly is right-wing about the article?

2) This is policy you support! You support QE which is benefitting the rich and the wealthy. So why do you support it if this is the result?
