And you are wrong about me, of course. I don't think Bill Clinton is perfect... I don't think any politician is perfect. I do stand with the democratic party because I have always admired their platform since I was a teenager. When their platform changes, I will look for another political affiliation. That's how I think politics ought to work... you stand with the party that most closely matches your principles... elections are about platforms and directions and policies... and they ought not to be personality contests, imo.

I don't think that anyone who stands on their principles is dishonorable - liberal or conservative.

I started my service when LBJ was president, and I retired when Clinton was president. During those years, I followed - and would have followed - any legal order from any of my superiors... AND, as far as my subordinates ever knew, I vigorously and enthusiastically supported all of those orders. That's what professional officers do.

the principles Cheney stood on were the principles of the US governments rules, regulations and requirements to
freely give deferments to students, married men, and fathers when it comes to the draft....millions received them.

Maybe the same principles Joe Biden stood on when he received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War,
the same number of deferments received by Vice President Dick Cheney, so whats your point.

No one is asking you to re-register as a Republican...only that you see and admit what IS the truth of issues...

Clinton did... a lot of people who ended up on both sides of the political fence years later did. Were they WRONG to do so? Were they WRONG to do whatever the hell they could to avoid fighting in a war that they vehemently opposed and one where America lost 55k men of my generation who could have done great things for this nation were they allowed to live instead of dying in a stupid stupid war? I fault no one on either side of the political spectrum for doing whatever the hell they could do to avoid dying in a war their country had absolutely no business fighting in the first place.

I'm a fucking democrat. Are all my party's candidates saints? fuck no. Will that stop me from supporting democrats? not until the platform of the democratic party changes into something I disagree with.
