Hollywood star Shirley Temple has died at the age of 85 at her home in Woodside, California. The American actress and singer, born in Santa Monica on April 23, 1928, passed away peacefully on Monday at 10.57pm of natural causes, her agent has confirmed.'She was surrounded by her family and caregivers,' her family said in a statement.

Probably my favorite ambassador of all-time. I've seen her in two movies when she was grown-up (Story of Seabiscuit and Fort Apache) and she was absolutely beautiful. I never saw any of her early movies for which she is famous, although everytime her collection is advertised, I see the 10 second clips of her tap dancing.

Your not looking in the right place's....the Obamabots are all happy she is dead. Apparently they all think she is racist for forcing old black men to dance with her in the movies from the 30's, oh and the fact that she was a Republican puts her on the shitlist as well

Damn, seems like a lot of dislike/hate for her. I can't claim to be all that familiar with her political background. It seems she was mostly an ambassador. Was she like a Sarah Palin/Jane Fonda type that brought about kind of visceral reactions?

She is now on the Good Ship Lolipop.
Bon Voyage!

She was a republican and a Christian. She was also a statesman (woman). Always known to be kind and intelligent in the way she engaged politics. I don't think most democrats feel or think unkindly about her- just the whacks from the left. She's truly on that "Good Ship Lolly-Pop" now.

I worked for about eight years with her husband's nephew. Never really asked him about Shirley though.

She was awesome... at all stages of her life... a true professional. Her politics were republican, but not stridently obstructively so... she was a great diplomat and a cute little child actress. I just watched a sequence on youtube of her and Buddy Ebsen dancing to the song "The Codfish Ball" from the 1936 movie, Captain January. She was a delight.

I have always respected Shirley Temple.

With the incomparable Bill Bojangles Robinson no less.

You're a fucking idiot as always...

Actually there were several people here in California who are black that said "she broke racial barriers" in fact, her dancing with "Bo Jangles" was edited out in the South because she was with a black man....Now sit there and stew in your own pathetic racism faggot!
