Dead kids and our 1st and 2nd amendment rights...

I do currently, not to say it can't happen in the future, but there are not enough of you malcontents at the present time to do anything that would result in overthrowing the government.
Oh I'm not a malcontent at all, nor am I speaking about this very moment.

We fire bombed them after the nuking them.

And before nuking them.

The bombing of Tokyo, often referred to as a firebombing, was conducted as part of the air raids on Japan by the United States Army Air Forces during the Pacific campaigns of World War II. The U.S. mounted a small-scale raid on Tokyo in April 1942. Strategic bombing and urban area bombing began in 1944 after the long-range B-29 Superfortress bomber entered service, first deployed from China and thereafter the Mariana Islands. B-29 raids from those islands began on 17 November 1944 and lasted until 15 August 1945, the day Japan capitulated.

Ok Rana, Ok. But even if what you say is true (it isn't), the citizens would be somehow less outraged if it was their friends and neighbors and family being killed? They wouldn't even have to be a part of the resistance, just in the same locality. You wouldn't be outraged if your grandchildren were incinerated by Sir Drones-A-Lot?

Civil wars are as ugly as it gets as proven in our history. We killed each other more than we killed people in any single foreign war.

You romantacize about overthrowing the government but don't think about what it truly means.

I don't think Obama is going to incarerate my grandchildren, you are trying to play to my emotions, I didn't think homey played that way! Lol

I asked this in another thread, what's the rallying point that will persuade me?

It'll probably be a combination of things. And it'll break down like all the other recent revolts. First we'll start peacefully protesting. Then some cops will think it's a good idea to get violent. Then things get...interesting.

I romanticize nothing about war, most especially a civil one. I simply know that victory in one is possible.

I didn't say Obama, though that you equate him to Sir Drones-A-Lot is telling. But it's just a question. You said our population would be outraged if we did it to a bunch of foreigners, wouldn't we be outraged if it happened here?

You may not be, but I think STY is ready to rock n roll.

I don't discount it could happen in the future, but whomever decides to rebel against this govenment better have their shit together!

As someone who's fought for this government, I could say the same about them.

I have no idea. I've never entertained the scenario of a great number of people rising up against the govt. because I think it's ludicrous.

Is it ludicrous that we can't defeat the terrorists in Afghanistan after 10+ years ?

Was it ludicrous that we suffered 10,000 causalities in Iraq from lone terrorists or bands of 2 an 3 terrorists, most with
no small arms or weapons at all ?...

I imagine the British thought rebellion was ludicrous 230 some years ago in the colonies....

and Lincoln thought rebellion ludicrous in 1885.......

and Batista thought it ludicrous in Cuba, etc.....

I think the notion foolish at this time in our history

I have always stated I hate the drone program and have criticized Obama for his administrations drone policies, so why is it telling?

So far, you have Philly and STY ready to go! Kind of a rag tag force, but who knows where this could go! ;)

All the way to GITMO :D Not that I have anything planned that would in any way be illegal or inflammatory against our benevolent president and his drones benevolent administration of peace and goodness.

Can't say I'm brainwashed by the media because the media I pay attention to never even mentions uprising.
amusing how you compartmentalize and generalize based on the subject so as to avoid painting yourself in to the proverbial corner. if you actually need an example, look at what the media reported on randy weaver and what he actually turned out to be.

How many people do you think would rise up against the US? What would be the reasons given to encourage this uprising? How many would it take to destroy the current govt. and supplant it with whatever you have in mind?
are you really that closed minded? or is restoration really that difficult of a concept for you to envision?

Do you think they would all join forces with you to overthrown the govenment they swore to protect and serve? I know my family members would fight against you?

all? of course not. but you're deliberately avoiding the argument. do you really think those of us who are former military have forgotten all about the training we received in the military?

Some of us (not me, not me at all, never) have even improved and expanded upon it.
