Should transgender teachers be able to use the student bathroom of their choice???

Yes, it is.

There are already laws to punish people who commit sexual assaults.

Unless you have evidence that a wave of unique sexual assaults by transgenders is sweeping the nation's toilets, why would you support statist "preventative" legislation, which would presumably be enforced by big government. Using evil police.

another progressive idiot avoiding my issue. and who said I support the 'preventative' legislation? i'm using it to expose your hypocrisy, is all.

I was sexually assaulted in a public restroom and it wasn't long ago, I think about 4 years ago? It happened at Four in Huntington. I used to call it douchebag central. I avoided it like the plague, I think I was there 3 times total and each time I had a bad experience wit this last time being the worst. It's not dramatic or anything, and I certainly wasn't scarred, or even scared, but I was sexually assaulted in the bathrooms there. A man who wouldn't leave me alone at the bar even though I made it clear I wasn't interested, followed me into the bathroom. I didn't notice he was following me because guess what, I was drunk, so you know I had it coming! Out drinking and dancing and making free with myself just like I was a man or something.

Anyway, he grabbed me and then he grabbed my breast. I shoved him hard and told him very loudly get the fuck off of me, and that was more or less that.

He didn't have to sneak in either. IT'S NOT HARD TO WALK INTO A FUCKING BATHROOM. Okay? No one really pays attention if you are in a crowded place, and if you are in a sparsely populated space there's no one around to.

I really wonder at many men who have these firm opinions, no not opinions, they just know. They know. They know what the dangers are. What's going to happen. What should be done. And honestly, other than the offenders among you, which is why I take note when Tom speaks, none of you really have the first clue what and who are dangerous.

I would lift not one eyebrow over a transgender person walking into the bathroom, and in fact it's happened many times back in the day when I went out in the city a lot. Never gave a crap, never was bothered by any one of them. You don't know what you're talking about. No I can't guarantee it won't happen, ever. So? And?

Re: the bolded. That might be true where you are. It's not true where I am. Especially in traffic.

It's not the same argument. A gun is specifically designed to cause harm. It makes it easier for those who intend to do harm to accomplish their goal. We know that there have been shootings in road rage incidents, and like I said - it's not a leap of logic to suggest that there would be more if there were more guns present in those incidents.

That's a far cry from looking at transgenders and just saying out of fear of the unknown that allowing them to use a certain restroom might present more of a danger.

you are using one false argument about guns, but you are still avoiding the hypocrisy.....and again, i'm not focusing on 'transgender'. i'm wondering how people can simply IGNORE the possibility they are creating here when they also are trying to do everything in their power to stop possibilities when it concerns an actual right of people carrying guns

So you say. It looks like you want more laws enabling government and police reaching into the pants and panties of free citizens to me.

I'm very sorry that happened to you, but compared to what has happened to me, you were barely assaulted.

why do you have a different viewpoint on trying to eliminate 'possibilities' with civilians and guns, then? that's what i'm trying to get people to understand.

Sorry to hear that, and glad it didn't amount to much. Still, that had to be unnerving to say the least.

I was thinking the same thing, though. If there are predators out there and they see public restrooms as a prime opportunity, what's stopping them? Again, I go back to not really imagining what it must be like to be transgender. You just are who you are, and because of that, there is an assumption of some vague criminal threat, and of greater risk. If there are some sort of stats out there, or rational basis for the concern, that's one thing...but I haven't seen anything to back that up yet.

It does?

I'll understand if you can't explain.

your comprehension is extremely picky and you tend to read out of things whatever you feel you need to, but feel free to find the post of mine that states my unequivocal support and advocacy of these 'potty' laws.

i'll understand if you won't.

I haven't seen any either, and that's why I'm asking them, please point the way if the information is out there.

Yeah it was unnerving and I'll leave it at that because of where we are and the mental facilities of the audience. :) But it really ended up being no big deal, but OTOH I tell the story a lot, have told it a lot since then, so yeah it definitely bothered me that it happened like that. Probably more than I wanted to let on.

Yet here you are.

Remember the "wide stance" guy? I mean, there is probably more evidence of politicians representing a threat in the restroom than there is for transgenders.

Maybe we should ban politicians from using them.

I agree it was no big deal in the scheme of things, and am not trying to make it sound like some big dramatic thing. My point really was, that even at my age, and I'm no longer young when I really was on guard more for such things and knew, or had learned really, not to let my guard down, that happened. And it happened in public. And the man was cisgendered and he had zero problem following me into the bathroom. Should we ban straight cisgendered males from public spaces? i mean, there's a lot more evidence that we should isn't there? There is no such thing as perfect security. And anyone striving for a perfectly secure society is begging for fascism.

again, i'm not supporting a ban or prohibition on anything. i'm pointing out the hypocrisy between two approaches of one ideology

Oh yeah there really does seem to be an issue with male politicians and public restrooms doesn't there? I'm not sure why they get turned on by bathrooms but I don't really want to chase that rabbit hole of depravity either.
