Demographics have completely changed in our country. Minorities made up a much smaller percentage of our electorate when Reagan won. Republicans can't win getting the same percentage of the white vote today that Reagan got when he won. Republicans have lost five of the last six popular votes in Presidential races. The party has to do stronger with minority voters or else we will really struggle to win again.
I like Will -he's a complete DC entrenched establishment figure but his is an expansive vocabulary.
So when you wrap dead fish in newspaper (dating myself) -you get an education -how cool is that?
But you never tell me how.
While that's true, republicans need every vote; and democrats have exposed working class democrats with their insane lurch to the left over the last decade.
he reminds me of Krauthammer, both can frame debates but I wind up scratching my head at their conclusions. He's likable enough but he looks down his nose at the rank and file red state republicans. Will is an establishment political pundit.
Which makes his abandonment kind of predictable.

In a generation or two many hispanics will be assimilated into the white bloc. Irish and polish were also once not thought of as white as well... But it happened. So the white bloc won't shrink as much as people Believe.
When do you think they may start voting Republican? (if at all)
I have said before. It's about outreach, engagement and making an actual effort to tell the story of why conservative principles and values are the best to different minority groups. Sitting back and saying "they're all takers, f'em" doesn't cut it. Like anything it starts at the grass route levels. Start working with young minority candidates for instance. Go meet with groups such as the Hispanic Business Chamber and others that may not be Republicans but also aren't hostile to our ideas either.
Ultimately it takes effort and real desire to reach these voters.

Personally i feel that republicans never had anything to offer minorities before trump. In fact I think his policies are the most black friendly weve seen from any side.
They'll start voting republican when the GOP comes up with more things like amnesty schemes for illegals and more governmental programs for healthcare and more programs like institutionalized daycare. And they will continue voting for the Dems until they do.
Why you republicans want dependent voters at the expense of working Americans astounds me because it is the death nil of your party.
One of the biggest they have to offer is school choice.
And black people won't support Trump. When Trump makes comments like "he's my African-American" they know what that means. You can say the racial things Trump does then expect to get minority votes.
Its the jobs. Blacks benefit the most from stopping illegal immigration.
I don't know what your experience is with black people and the black community but they aren't voting for someone they believe is a racist and many believe Trump to be racist.

I bet you could guess what his experience with the black community is,![]()
