George Will leaving Republican Party

Lots of candidates quote the opposition. What did Trump say that has you in a tizzy?

For me it was the combination of making no reference to the great entrepreneurial capabilities of our country which is our engine of growth and this desire to take us back decades and centuries ago in time economically.

His specific line about the EPI was this:

It was also Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, who shoved us into a job-killing deal with South Korea in 2012.

As reported by the Economic Policy Institute in May, this deal doubled our trade deficit with South Korea and destroyed nearly 100,000 American jobs.

As Bernie Sanders said, Hillary Clinton "Voted for virtually every trade agreement that has cost the workers of this country millions of jobs.”

I'm just trying to picture someone like Reagan in his first major economic speech agreeing with a socialist on trade policy and quoting a left wing think tank for his economic numbers.

I don't care of the source of the material or if some old socialist happens to agree with me on a single point or not- either something is factual or its not. If our trade deficit doubled with S. Korea in 3 years, I'd say that is a problem. Wouldn't you agree?

Trump got where he has by making deals that benefit both sides. It looks like the S. Korea deal only benefitted one side.

I don't really care about trade deficits or surpluses. I don't think most people understand what they really mean including politicians. (I include myself in there as well). Trump talks about them as if our countries well being rests on that number.

Maybe it's the inner right winger in me but i don't trust an anti trade left wing think tank's numbers on job losses in a trade deal.

Look, we can argue these issues all day long but what really matters is character and the next four to eight years of Supreme Court nominations. Mrs. Clinton is a liar, treats the folks under her with disdain, and you know what kind of libtard trash she'll appoint to the Supreme Court. Trump is honest and treats his workers with respect. We don't know who he'll pick for judges- even Reagan nominated some losers- but at least there's a chance we'll get some good ones.

I'm very conservative and he's far from my perfect candidate. But I'd rather Trump than Clinton and will do my part to have that happen. Any Republican who stays home or votes third party ought to have their head examined.

the deficits or surpluses dont matter per se. They are just a number. They just show who is producing and who is buying. Trump wants us to be producing and the jobs that entails

I agree with you about the Supreme Court which is why I do not understand the voters selecting Trump. We all know Hillary is a horrible candidate yet we picked one of the people she could beat. At the end of the day who I vote for is irrelevant because I live in California and Hillary (or any Dem) will win this state going away. But just as other conservative stayed home and didn't vote for McCain or Romney because they were too moderate I cannot not support Trump the Democrat.

And to me there is nothing honest about the Trump. It's almost to the point that when he tells the truth its surprising. If the goal was to get an honest and successful business man we had one in Romney. That guy built a world class company and as far as politicians go was pretty much on the up and up.

I hate Trump and I hate Hillary Clinton. I'm f'd either way.

The voters selected Trump because the GOP representatives that we elected ignored the reasons why we elected them. We're telling the GOP to go f' themselves ; in essence, we elected a third party candidate.

When we chose Romney the 'rats demonized him and they are doing so with Trump, big surprise. "Liar, racist, sexist, misogynist, homophobe..." What is surprising to me is that you believe what the 'rats are telling you this time.

The only thing I believe about Trump that the 'rats claim is what I know is true: he is arrogant and a bully. Neither is a disqualification for office.

Well, he's apparently not homophobic or "transphobic," but he's definitely racist and sexist. Since he prefers to never tell the truth, he is one of the biggest liars to ever seek the presidency.

If it's third party candidate Trump or third party candidate Johnson I'm for the later. I'm old enough and lived in the Bay Area long enough that if I believed everything liberals said there would be less than zero chance I'm a Republican today. I'm saying Trump's a liar not because liberals claim he is but because he is one. I have mostly right-wingers on my twitter feed and many are merciless on Trump. It's no different than us rightfully calling out all the negatives about Hillary and then liberals say "that's just right-wing garbage, she's none of those things". Yes she is.

To each his own who they choose to vote for but Trump stands for so much against what I'm for and why I'm a Republican that I want no part of his sinking ship.

How does the Judge make Trump a racist and please don't just use all the liberal talking points?

This wasn't your question but what it does do is make him look really dumb. He claims Hispanics love him but a judge born in Indiana, appointed by a Republican Schwarzenegger, who has Mexican parents can't partially judge a case of his? And then people wonder why his negative numbers with Hispanic voters are what they are. Not to mention this trial has nothing to do with the campaign, its about him as normal, and he did this during a time when bad economic numbers came out. Instead of talking about those he focused on this.

You're obviously free to debate whether his comment meets the technical term of racism but ultimately that is irrelevant in terms of how it was perceived by voters.

As a Republican I cannot support a Democrat. Trump gave an economic speech yesterday quoting Bernie Sanders and EPI which is the AFL-CIO's think tank. Trump putting a R next to his name doesn't change who he is. He's a Democrat. It's really no different than Michael Bloomberg becoming a Republican to run for Mayor of NYC. The man was never a Republican.

get over it....if you're leaving the party, leave and quit whining.......become a Democrat and get it over with.....
