Tax cut dont increase revenue

Dumbasdung would be better than dungshit. Do you ever listen to nonpartisan economist?

SF your a tard, we are not talking spending dorkface. Tax cuts and spending.
If your $300,000 broker salary is taxed at 50% and is next year lowered to 30% your not going to spend and invest a good deal of the 20%. LOFL

that sort of common sense logic doesn't compute with some of these people cause its not backed up with blogger statistics.

Chap - That's hilarious. The opposite is actually true. Republicans want you to believe that tax cuts increase revenues so that they can cut taxes and without doing any corresponding spending cuts. In fact, they can pay for all their wildest programs not through tax hikes, but through tax cuts. See the beauty of that? They can increase spending while cutting taxes. Ponies for everyone!

Democrats, on the other hand, take a realistic approach to these issues. It's not that tax increases are a good thing. It's just that they are necessary after eight years of Bush mis-management.

so by this logic.

Republican - Increase government size but we will lower tax
Democrats - Increase govt size but we will increase taxes

Chapdog - both will increase government. republicans will cost me less.

At 99.6 percent, revenues did nearly double during the 80s. However, they had likewise doubled during EVERY SINGLE DECADE SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION!

We can all have fun with #'s

Of course they could double when the highest tax brackets are tripled. During 29-32 rates went from 25% to 63%. 40's went up to 80% then to over 90% in 50's and 60's. The differance in Reagan and JFKs tax cuts are we increased tax reciepts while lowering tax rates, not raising them.

An Republicans will destroy our country.

Even if it were that simple( and its not) which would you rather have high taxes and America solvent or no America?

Republican - Borrow and spend.
Democrat - Tax and Spend

Dungheap - Both will increase government. Democrats will cost me and my children less. Loans aren't interest free.

Anyone that actually balances there own budget is far fiscally conservative then the government. So if your wife or husband goes out and spends 20% more then your household makes..

Democrats - Get a fucking second job so u can support that and more.
Republicans - Fuck it put it on credit.
Chapdog - Tell the bitch.. or ass... to curb spending or they are out on there ass.

Wow. Strong words. And didn’t you call SF a “gayboy” while he was gone?

you talking about the America that doesn't know when or if they will pay me my social security even tho i pay 7% of my salary for it?

How about the America that uses my tax money to invade countries and not share the spoils of war with me.

Personally at this stage of my life fuck the government on both sides. I will save for my self and for my children's future without there help. to accomplish this goal i am for the candidates that will steal the least amount of my money.

Which is fine. I don't care. Just don't hide behind the "tax cuts increase revenue" bullshit and don't complain about deficits.

Really? In eight years Reagan raised the nations debt by $1.6 trillion. In eight years Clinton raised the nations debt by $1.6 trillion. The Bush's were obviously worse. But the point remains, they both continue to raise our nations debt.

Now think about that for a minute?

Clinton reduced the Climb in his time.

I know you hate him but he at least held back the dam

What i want is for them to curb spending. then it wont even be a question of raising taxes. 2.6T a year if rediculous to be talking about another tax increase. now if you want to talk about a revenue neutral change in policy that puts more burden on rich and breaks for middle class im all for it.

but a tax increase to make more then 2.6T is outrageous considering both sides record of piss poor management of the money.

Here is where we diverge. With Clinton you at least had an attempt to balance the budget and operate under pay-go rules. With the Republicans all bets are off. Further, the Republicans operate under the fiction that tax cuts increase revenues. With thinking like that you're never going to get anywhere ont eh deficit side of things.

When have Democrats not called for tax increases? This is not a new position the party is taking in 2008.

Clinton benefitted from one of the greatest booms our country has seen, yet he and the Rep Congress STILL managed to increase our nations debt EVERY SINGLE FRIGGIN FISCAL YEAR.

I do not hate Clinton. He was a decent President. Not great, not terrible.

He did nothing to "hold back the dam"... he like every President since Ike ... INCREASED the pressure on the dam.

dnt forget this was a republican bill. 1997 balanced budget.. and a larger percentage of the dems voted no then for the pubs.

I'd also point out that once the budget was balances, the Republicans wanted a tax cut, not use any surplus to pay down the deficit. Maybe Al Gore's "lock box" idea wasn't a good one, but at least it made sense from a long-term perspective. Tax cuts are the Republican answer to everything.
