doesn't matter. the popular vote doesn't matter. never did. never will. just because california wanted hillary, the rest of the country didn't. she lost in one of the biggest upsets ever. that should say volumes about her incompetence

trump is supremely ignorant about government and how it functions. I doubt he could pass a citizenship test. And coupled with his arrogance, lack of intellectual curiosity and indifference to learning, that makes him a complete wash out.

I love how you guys dismiss CA voters as being less important than other states' voters. It's got the most population and leans left. Righties don't like it then move there and change the demographics.

And your original comment was that a *majority* of the country wanted trump, nothing about the EC.

on that, i do not disagree. he's a boorish clod with almost zero diplomacy skills. hillary is just as bad in other ways, with her incompetence in lying and her propensity for skirting laws for her own purposes.

california has 55 electoral votes, more than any other state. texas is 2nd with 38. So how the hell do you figure that the votes of californians are less important?

I think all votes are equal. It's the conservative meme that blames Cali for trump losing the popular vote. And trump got three key states by only 103K popular votes, had he lost them HRC would have gotten the electoral votes to win. So basically trump became president because of 103K votes, hardly the sweeping victory he likes to claim.

and if popular vote meant anything in electing a president, you'd have a solid point. but it doesn't, so you don't. Trump had 74 more electoral votes than hillary. that is a sweeping victory, much more evident by the numerous videos of liberal dismay over him winning when they thought he had zero chance.

with regard for your signature line, by that everyone should have their own nuclear weapon with delivery system (if they could afford it) because a modern military rifle would only be worth while against a non-modern military. a modern military has weapons that you could not buy (classified) and has an ability to look around corners and see in the ultraviolet and infrared not to mention communications gear that is light enough to carry and allow non-trappable conversations with each other and your leaders, ect.

and if we the people still had the same spirit of freedom and liberty as the founders, we'd be able to have all that equipment as well. but there are too many statists and cowards out there, so we're 'prohibited' by a monopoly of violence.

Most states award all of their electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the popular vote in the state...48 of the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., award all of their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote there.

and all votes ARE equal, within that state, which is how hillary ended up with the 55 votes from cali. her campaign got stupid though and she neglected the other 40 states.. sucks for her

the electoral college IS the constitutional method. what else am i supposed to read? and no, the majority did NOT feel that hillary should have won. otherwise, she'd have gotten 270+ electoral votes.
