According to this story Paddock apparently set up cameras outside his room to alert him to police presence.

It goes on to say that when police approached Paddock fired at them, but when they breached the door he had already shot himself.

So did he shout at them through the walls? I guess with the cameras he would have known their relative position but it still would have taken some skill.

This story gets fishier and fishier

Something is clearly wrong here, have they said what the weapon was that he used? All I keep hearing is what weapons he had

What difference does it make, we know that whatever it was had the capacity to shoot a long distance and rapidly

Because it's important to know that he acted alone and was not a patsy. It's possible he could have been kidnapped and murdered at the scene and left by the real perps to confuse investigators. Not that I believe that at this point, but there are numerous scenarios where he could have been victim. The hundred thousand sent to Philippines could have been ransom money.

Oh, is that what they are attempting to build, I was thinking their going to claim it was like Oswald, that there were hidden shooters from some left wing group who did the killing and the dimwit who got caught was a patsy they set up, that's more conspiratorial

Wow, did I predict that or what, I must have been half way thru when you forward this, there are endless scenarios, as there always is, but I'll take the findings of those whose jobs it is to determine such things and currently they ain't hinting at any conspiracies

A conspiracy theory would make more sense than this rich white guy suddenly going on a rampage. But now I see his father was a criminal psychopath. Seems like junior must have learned from daddy's mistakes and was able to hide his dark side until now. This act seems like something he planned for a very long time and was his way to let free a lifetime worth of suppressed psychopathic urges.

It matters a lot, I am not sure that an assault rifle could inflict this damage at this distance. The shooter might have had a heavy machine gun that would be difficult to carry into the room, thus he had help.

Interesting; but wouldn't the cameras in the hotel have to have been disabled, seeing as how most of them have cameras in the hallways?

Why wouldn't a rifle, fired from a high point, be unable to inflict this damage at this distance?

The amount of rounds fired continuously indicates a machine gun string of shots and not a clip situation, this guy would have needed 20 or more high capacity clips and have had to use them all. It would be easy to amplify and slow down the audio of the situation to count the shots. No one has done this because they know that a machine gun was used and they are trying to track the weapon to it's source.

He could very well have been using the bump stocks and switching rifles.
It was reported that he had them on at least two of them.

How many shots are you saying he fired?

50 people are dead and 500 are wounded, it should also be understood that not every round hit a person. I would say that between 1000 and 3000 rounds were fired. The FBI to my knowledge has not said definitively what the weapon was, they just are making note of weapons that he had. The weapon is always disclosed immediately, not sure why, but it just is. Except for this time

I'm sure he fired more then 550 rounds; because I doubt he was "aiming at specific targets" and instead was just firing aimlessly at the biggest groups he could see.

Not an expert on bump stocks but they don’t seem like something that is interchangeable very quickly. I have only heard that he had two.
