'Please don't kill me': Cop cleared of murder after shooting dead a sobbing father

No, you would not have "convinced" each member of anything. I was a jury foreman on a Federal court case involving "sworn officers" (who withheld evidence in a high profile murder trial) and we had one juror who tried to "convince" everyone his "opinion" was unconditional. I told him his opinion would be discussed with the same merit the other 11 members would. Those deliberations lasted over a week until we finally agreed upon a verdict. Interestingly enough, it was he who "modified" his opinion after much discussion for us to reach a unanimous decision.

That said, this officer fired 5 rounds at a man crawling on the floor with his weapon (and other officer's weapons) trained on him. The officer had enough time to make a decision to fire, even if that individual did pull a weapon from behind his back. He definitely overreacted in this situation.

Meh. Maybe I jumped the gun so to speak. Generally speaking though. I'm pretty convincing when folks aren't so close minded that they can't change their minds.

Not sure if serious but it has nothing to do with the jury being uneducated when the laws are set up a certain way

Either the jurors are uneducated in the use of force. Or they are like many people here and expect cops to act emotionally instead of professionally while expecting untrained citizens to act professionally instead of emotionally.

Or this is another case where the prossicutor intentionally overcharged a cop knowing the crime would never meet the requirements.

It's not hard. When they only hire people below average, it means there are about half of us too damn smart to be cops

And yet; you've reverted back to just posting comments, without any facts that prove your statement, just to try and appear intelligent.

So sad. :palm:

This is what happens when professionals go to court with jury's filled with the uneducated. Trial by a jury of peers. Civilians are not the peers of sworn officers. But at the same time filling the jury with other LEO'S invites even more corruption into this system. Had I been on that jury I'd of convinced each member of the jury that be was guilty during deliberations.

Really? You aren't very convincing here.

you should know, better than most anyone, that those are personnel records and as such are not subject to public inquiry.

I realize that you aren't able to see the corner you've painted yourself into; but I still hold out hope for your abilities and will wait to see if your able to figure it out.

:good4u:

Hilarious. if you'd bothered to research the case before you opened your pie hole, you'd know that many in Arizona law enforcement are saying the charges were political and should have never been brought.

Get out your red letters. Fat fingers little phone, small screen.

How about ya read some of my other posts on the subject. Ya might realize that I have some experience here.

Yes, I was a federal correctional officer at a federal prison!

Wonder why freedumb never responded to this?

are you saying you don't know the ins and outs of police union contract requirements as it regards personnel records? how do you manage to chime in so forcefully on topics such as OIS and adamantly support the armed government enforcement agent no matter the circumstances? would it be because you're a cop sucker?????? I think so.

Still can't see the corner you've painted yourself into, can you; but it's probably because you allowed some criminal to use your face for a "money shot" and your eyes are sealed shut. :D

yeah, last resort of a loser........trying to ridicule. you know you lost, dont ya?

OH, don't try and assume that you have some ethical high ground; because you've also failed to see that your ridicule fits your criteria for that "loser" designation. :D

Do you need help seeing how you painted yourself into a corner or do you just want to act like you didn't?

You're always pretty snarky saying that people don't know what cops are facing on the job. Yet Ken was in the system and on the job and he called out this p.o.s. Brailsford like you're unwilling to do.

Prove he was in the system; because he could also say he was a CEO of Sears.
