Trump’s Right: New Year’s Eve May Be The Coldest On Record

It's pretty unheard of to happen during winter here. I can pretty much attest it never happened in the years I've lived up here. That's about 27 years. They are normally reported up farther north into Ontario from what the weather guy that posted it said.

You got to witness history then! And caught it on camera.

It was on the bay around where I live, but a local meteorologist took the picture. I just saved it for posterity. One of the weirdest weather things, that has been up here. Falls in line with a snowfall later in spring I heard rumors of up here. Apparently happened before I moved up here.

Because of the inaccuracies in collecting and reporting global climate changes, we need to look at a 5 yr moving average of the temperatures. We also need to throw out data that is out of the statistical probability. The NASA data up to 2003 shows a rising climate temperature. Since that time the moving average shows that we are either flat or we are in a cooling cycle. There is one thing we know for sure. Climate change is cyclic. We do not know the magnitude of changes nor the length of the cycle. There is a good case to be made that the warming cycle is now over.

Bloody hell, somebody new who actually talks sense on climate. You're a rare bird indeed.

"Because of the inaccuracies in collecting and reporting global climate changes" S9
Fine.
So you're not a trained scientist. No sin there.
But scientists, meteorologists don't "collect and report global climate changes".
They / we record data, and note statistical trends.
"we need to look at a 5 yr moving average of the temperatures."
We do, not merely on temperature, but on sea level rise, on polar ice cap activity, atmospheric carbon concentration, in contrast to records, data, and sources some of which go back many centuries.
"We also need to throw out data that is out of the statistical probability."
Based on what?
Data spikes. We know this from experience.
"There is one thing we know for sure. Climate change is cyclic."
I've never met, heard, seen, or read any climatologist assert otherwise.
They know about previous ice ages, and much more.

BUT !!

Those are NATURAL fluctuations
The issue here is not merely that our climate is changing, but that the change is anthropogenic: man-made.
"We do not know the magnitude of changes nor the length of the cycle."
Not with triple decimal precision perhaps.
But by and large the dire predictions foretold to us have been coming true; some even demonstrating that the predictions were not dire enough!
"There is a good case to be made that the warming cycle is now over."
That is the nature of science.
Static modeling a dynamic system is foolish.
The predictions made a dozen years ago are being eclipsed by events:
- coal obsolescence
- hydro-fracking causing a petro-gas market glut
- spontaneous or coincident shift from the internal combustion engine powered automobile to electric alternatives, the proliferation of renewable energy sources both commercial and private, and simple but significant improvements in energy efficiency, like the LED displacing the less efficient incandescent, and the far more toxic CFL.

We may already be too late. Too soon to know for sure.
But it's very interesting to see troglodytes like President Trump being circumvented by the world, from global leaders in China & elsewhere, all the way down to urban mayoralties, implementing recycling programs, replacing black rooves with white rooves, etc.

Specious waffle!

That's dismissal, not refutation.
I invite you or anyone else to quote my exact words, and then cite why you perceive it is fallacious.

But if you COULD have done that, you WOULD have done that.

You can't.

You didn't.

Therefore thank you for your substantiation. I find grudging substantiation such as yours not merely the most sincere, but the most rewarding.

Read this excellent article by climatologist Judith Curry on her blog, you just might learn something.

Speculation, not correction or clarification.

Have you made one valid point in this thread? In this forum? In this presidential administration?

Poor, cherry-picking bitch. Eliminates those who will call him on his cut-and-paste horseshit.

Does "suck my dick" have the same meaning in your 'nobody gives a fuck where you live' land as it does here, cockbite?

Yep some cold days. However nothing to do with global warming. Cold weather in NYC is not col weather on the whole globe. Nor does it change the trends showing the global warming is real. Science has collected the data. We have had 16 of the warmest years ever recorded in the last 17. That says more than it was cold in NYC late December. https://www.ucsusa.org/global-warming/science-and-impacts/science/human-contribution-to-gw-faq.html Global warming is a real phenomenon and the data backs it clearly.

I see that I neglected to ban your arse on this thread, won't happen again. I have a perfect right to ban whomsoever I like and I don't like you. You're a truly weird fucker,

You sure do, pusswipe. Intellectually dishonest cowards like you do that.

Sad little bitch. Do I have to explain what "bitch" means in this country, foreign fuck?

There was a pause for 18 years until El Nino in 2016-17, temperatures are now dropping rapidly. The pause was verified by both satellites and radiosondes in weather balloons.
