Another government shutdown!

Taichiliberal

Shaken, not stirred!
Newt Gingrich tried it, and it cost him his job and the American public millions of dollars. Now the GOP, with control of all 3 branches of gov't, is at it again...but this time they are laying (or at least trying to blame) the Democrats.

Funny that, seeing how the GOP has been the Party of NO for 8 years, and how they REFUSED any negotiations from the Dems this past year under Trump-icana. But here is a more level viewpoint that I found interesting:

In the simplest and most direct terms, the Democrats are certainly to blame for the government shutdown. They decided to block, en masse, a continuation of government funding that included nothing with which they disagree. That is obstructionism, and it is irresponsible. But Republicans are to blame, too. They could have pushed to change the rules to allow for automatic funding resolutions to patch these very impasses, taking brinksmanship off the table. Such funding mechanisms could and should include fiscally conservative provisions that limit spending increases until Congress acts. Republicans have not shown much interest in such reforms. They are also to blame for not having moved expeditiously to forge a compromise on DACA. The president’s uninformed and inconstant leadership on this issue has not helped. As to who will be blamed, I have every confidence it will be the Republicans. The public sees Republicans as the anti-government party. That idea is deeply imbedded in the public consciousness, as much as Democrats are viewed as the party of broadening the welfare state. No set of facts will change that perspective overnight.

How do they control all three branches? Be specific.

Look it up, dammit. I'm sick & tired of doing the homework for lazy, willfully ignorant "conservatives" who are essentially trying to avoid acknowledging a fact that does not reflect well on their leadership.

He was baiting you into showing your ignorance of how the government works. :|

The shut down is over but you are an ignorant fucking moron, the overwhelming majority of republicans voted for the extension and only 5 senate democrats crossed the aisle, it required 60 votes to pass in the Senate, it was the Schumer shutdown on behalf of illegal immigrants over US citizens.

Dear liberal idiot; it's the Democrats who want the shutdown. I do wish you had even the tiniest of brains.
