I thought it was pretty clear that I was laughing at the claim that this was the 11th school shooting. Your misinterpretation of what I said is not my problem. But then, you seem perfectly willing to jump to conclusions.

11 is a statement of propaganda. It is intentionally misleading in order to produce knee-jerk reactions. Which it has done.

By contrast, your claim that 6 makes me much more comfortable is an outright lie.

You really don't bring much to the table do you? I mean, other than calling people names and generally being a hostile prick.

You are right. It is propaganda and misleading. It's basically bullshit. And that being said.... One school shooting ever is too many. It doesn't matter if it's one per week, per month, per year, per decade. It is one too many.

Let's stop bitching at each other for one damn minute and look at the OP again, at Bailey's photo. Let's think for a few seconds about her life, what it was like to be 15 and looking forward to thousands of more days of life.... finding love, building a career, getting married, having a family, enjoying the sunshine, hugging her grandma, nursing her child, loving her husband in the grass on a summers day.

That's gone now.

I hope your gun rights are worth that.

Oh, the EO that lumped all people receiving disability and having someone help manage their affairs together with psycho paths? The one that did not allow people to defend themselves, but instead forced them to try to prove they were not dangerous? The EO that the ACLU fought against? As did numerous mental health advocacy groups?

I have no problem with doctors reporting their mentally ill patients to the background check system, as they are required to do. But drawing a disability check and having someone help manage their affairs does not mean they should not own guns. There are a variety of reasons someone would want someone to help them with their affairs. From mobility issues and literacy issues to issues involving the security of their finances, there are reasons that do not involve mental incompetency or being a mental defective.

If someone is marked as mentally defective or mentally incompetent, they should be reported to the background check system.

I think the ACLU and the various mental health advocacy groups were right to be against this EO.
