Lyrics of "I Apologize" by Oscar Brown Jr.

I apologize for being black
All I am plus all I lack
Please sir, please m’am
Give me some slack
‘Cause I apologize

I apologize for being poor
For being sick and tired and sore
Since I ain’t slick
Don’t know the score
I do apologize

I apologize because I bear
Resemblance most black people share
Thick lips, flat nose, and nappy hair
Yes I apologize

I apologize for how I look
For all of the lows and blows I took
On those Lord knows I’d close the book
As I apologize

I apologize for all I gave
For letting you make me yo’ slave
And going to my early grave
Yes I apologize

I apologize for being caught
For being sold, for being bought
For being told I count for naught
Yeah I apologize

I apologize for all I’ve done
For all my toil out in the sun
Don’t want to spoil your righteous fun
So I apologize

I apologize and curse my kind
For being fooled, for being blind
For being ruled, and in your bind
Yes I apologize

I apologize and curse my feet
For being slow, for being late
Because I know it’s me you hate
Why not apologize

I apologize and tip my hat
‘Cause you so rich and free and fat
Son of a bitch, that’s where it’s at
And I apologize

he did apologize

It was an allegory and an apt one at that, illegal immigration has definitely bit American labor.

It was definitely an allegory, and one that was pretty dark & consistent w/ his usual thoughts about immigrants. And Ingraham's was her way of "joking."

Still, from everything I've read, these lines were fairly par for the course in terms of the rhetoric at the event. The one conservative columnist who spoke up about right-wing hypocrisy on women's issues was booed and had to be escorted out because of fear for her security.

And Ingraham said that liberals are like herpes.

Welcome to CPAC - elevating the discourse in America & bringing people together.

I don't want to "be together" with you liberals. You seek to undo everything I hold dear. You are political enemies, no mercy should be given.

And snake illegals aren't "americans" and don't deserve to "be together" with us in the first place.

Maggie(his daughter) said. “We always took it like, if you lay down with dogs, don’t expect not to wake up with fleas.”

So what does this analogy mean Thingy....???? Just dogs and fleas for you, I guess?

Brown’s daughter Maggie told the Chicago Tribune that she wanted Trump to stop using the poem, while Brown’s grandson suggested that Trump read some more of Oscar Brown Jr.’s poetry — specifically “Debris,” about the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks:

The song was penned by Chicago poet, singer, and “Grandpap of Rap” Oscar Brown Jr., and it was based an Aesop fable titled “The Farmer and the Viper”:

The Russian fabulist Ivan Krylov, who often used La Fontaine's fables for a variation of his own, adapted the story to address contemporary circumstances in his "The Peasant & The Snake". Written at a time when many Russian families were employing French prisoners from Napoleon I's invasion of 1812 to educate their children, he expressed his distrust of the defeated enemy. In his fable the snake seeks sanctuary in a peasant home and pleads to be taken in as a servant. The peasant replies that he cannot take the risk of endangering his family and kills the snake

I don't have time to go search for this. can anyone find a link to the source?

Trump told an old and bad parable about the snake getting carried over the river. He read it slowly and badly. Seemed like it was the first time he heard it. Trump is amazingly ignorant.

What a sad attitude.

We're all still Americans, and we share this country & many of its core values. You're way too caught up in politics.
