We were able to overlook his personal failings so long as he governed on what he ran on and fought on behalf of his supporters, he has failed his base in such a uuuuge way this time that it won't be forgiven and which will prompt low turnouts in November and a likely primary challenge in 2020. His base was willing to fight so long as he was but he just bent the knee to the DNC and establishment republicans.

The Democrats are not an acceptable alternative -they are whack job PC based, sanctuary city, even bigger spenders.
It had to be done due to the damage inflicted by sequestor to the military.

The dems can act like children running around trying to gum up the works for no reason - but they are not governing.
Sometimes actually governing means making decisions you don't like,but are necessary.

Agreed. We don't end up with $20 trillion in debt without much bi-partisan co-operation. Ultimately that's the fault of us the voters because we don't hold politicians accountable in that we love when they cut our taxes yet also spend more on us.

The best bet today for fiscal conservatism is a bill Clinton type Dem as Pres and a Repubkican controlled congress

I would add that John Kasich had a lot to do with the budget during Clinton's presidency. He and Rand Paul would be the only two I would trust to be fiscally conservative in the White House.
