even in the wind. marines are riflemen first and foremost. we trained in how to kill with one shot in all kinds of conditions.

Actually, they wouldn't be a bad varmint gun out to about 200 yards or so. The ammo is cheap, and a good marksman could stretch it out to about 300 yards.
As for a deer rifle, with a closer, standing shot, for a good marksman it could be OK. Myself, I wouldn't recommend anything smaller than a .270, and that's even on the smaller end.
But no, the 2nd. Amendment is not about hunting.

It's not what the round is being fired from that does the damage, it's the round itself.

Once the round leaves the barrel they're all the same.
