North Korea says it's still willing to resolve issues with US after Trump cancels summit

North Korea's vice foreign minister Kim Kye Gwan said the North is open to resolving issues with the United States whenever and however, after U.S. President Donald Trump called off a June summit with its leader, Kim Jong Un.

"We had set in high regards President Trump's efforts, unprecedented by any other president, to create a historic North Korea-U.S. summit," said the vice foreign minister in a statement released on Friday by the North's central news agency.

"We tell the United States once more that we are open to resolving problems at any time in any way," he said.

For example, U.S. officials traveled to Singapore last week expecting to meet with North Korean counterparts, but the North Koreans never showed up.

“They stood us up,” the official said at a briefing for reporters conducted on condition of anonymity.

I think Kim and crew were just doing a "me thinks thou dost protest too much" routine supposedly getting all indignant and huffy about Bolton and Pence...just an excuse so they could bolt first and force Trump to "beg"..............SURPRISE! Trump pulled that trigger first which left Kim in the position of showing he really really really still wanted to meet. You go Trump!!!! MAGA! :awesome:

I’m still cautiously optimistic about it.

Things could go either way, but I don’t recall Kim behaving like this. My impression is Kim is actually afraid of US power for the first time. The way they reacted to Bolton’s Libya comment was an indication in that regard.
