"It has not been easy to come to this point," Kim

“It doesn't say anything," Amb. Joseph Yun, the former U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, said on CNN.

Olivia Enos, a policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative Washington think tank, said the president's decision to suspend military exercises was "concerning.”

Doesn't look like there is any of the bolded in this new one, either.

So, essentially, nothing happened. Another con.
you just outed yourself as TDS.
I just showed you a denuke regimine isn't a difficult construct, the difficulty is keeping it going without cheating.

Like Trump said during the news conference "the sanctions stay on until we know the nukes are inoperable" then they get removed etc.

That was an AMAZING scene. The US propaganda film they showed kim what he could achieve,
and he obviously wants it.
Trump said Kim was fascinated by a tablet and an iphone

hard to say how it went - but in all probability/hope it's the first step on a journey to peaceful coexistence -
at least not war or constant threats at each other ( every journey begins with the first step ).

It was just last August Kim was threatening Guam and sending ICBMs over Japan.
Now they're at least talking face to face.

Much will depend on China staying tough on sanctions. Maximum pressure sanctions also got us here

If former President Obama were doing this...you right wing nut-cases would be going ape-shit.

What a bunch of hypocrites you guys are.

Obama could have engaged. He did not -his strategic patience punted into Trumps lap. Trump engaged in a masterful way. He sold kim on modernization. kim bought it
( including the US produced propaganda film) and they signed a comprehensive plan for denuke and modernization

Sorry; I'm trying to be objective about this, and I want it to work. But it's obvious Trump didn't prepare for it, and that nothing meaningful was accomplished. What you're talking about above is what they might HOPE will happen, which many would call wishful thinking.

This was smoke & mirrors at its highest level. And it's discouraging, because Trump treated a tyrant better than he treated our allies. And he helped elevate that tyrant on the world stage, as well as with internal propaganda. He's kind of like the Hanoi Jane of Presidents.

jesus. you want it to work, but you won't see the process.
Trump was well prepared. They had a couple of off ramps if kim wouldn't go all in.
but he did.
It's not like we sent him a bunch of money and hope he buys in, he bought in first.

sanctions stay on until he meets his commitment. Trump risked noting except a meeting ( which he said)
Trump said "well if they want to criticize me for a meeting who cares -i'm here to bring peace"
That a long way from betrayal like Jane. Trump dangled the carrot and prods with the stick

Now see them come up with a timeline, and steps. Trump read the situation "they want to make a deal"
and drove it.

It's amazing to me how (modern) liberals seem to want and enjoy the status quo - on foreign policy, their bought and paid for politicians (hrc), unfair trade agreements, etc.
That reeks of conservatism.
Trump is the new liberal, and I welcome it. Establishment repubs and dims have accomplished little to nothing.

You poor suckers...kissing Dear Leaders ass.

There are times I almost feel sorry for you guys.

Almost!

Obama's way...others GET nukes.
Trump's way...others GIVE UP nukes.

The Obama giveth...............the Trump taketh away.

When Obama talked to dictators, Fox accused him of bowing and scarping to dictators. Trump does it and it is statesmanship. This board is full of Fox level posters. This was a show.
