Hell - PR is just a tiny territory with 3 million people while the carolinas and virginia have ten times that !! The press obviously lied about Maria in the hopes of making trump look bad. The complete lack of critical thinking skills is obvious.. Beavis and Butthead have the same problem. .. Criticisming Anderson Cooper for being in waist high water during a segment of a live hurricane was so incredibly stupid. The point was that when roadways are submerged in a sheet of water you can't see the holes and ditches.

The PR death toll includes a year of deaths after the storm. Florence isn't even a week old. Give it time.
 
The press just reports the number. Government and researchers do the counting. Look elsewhere for your conspiracy theories.

Similar numbers were killed in Puerto Rico directly from storm causes. The higher figure is due to the fact that the island spent almost a year without power, a lot of people are going to die in fact when your hospitals don't have electricity.

Also even if something similiar occurred in North Carolina, it would take about a year to produce similiar figures.
