sure. I've heard slavery called "America's Original Sin" akin to the old Catholic tenant that we are born in sinSome people back then knew slavery was evil and worked to eliminate it. But the buying and selling of human flesh under any pretext is evil. Just because it was an accepted practice in a different century doesn't change that. A lot of people back then were more God-fearing that those today yet they still justified slavery. It's mind boggling. Breaking up families, working people like mules, insisting that slaves bow and scrape to their owners, considering human beings as chattel... and people that Americans revere today were part of it, like Washington and Jefferson. Maybe we don't want to say that the founders had character flaws... well, I do... but they certainly had blind spots about the morality of the practice.
I read history and see pics and articles like these below and it makes me sick.

and have to be baptized in Jesus name to get to salvation.
Have some faith in the USA though..it took a civil war and years of Jim Crow and Separate but Equal
but we did rid ourselves of it ( our ability to self-correct)
yada yada. That's a nice whitewashed version we were sold, indeed. Ah that's why I like reality tv, reality american history. and alternative facts. Comfortably soft, cozy, and re-distributionally economical over time. The beauty is, it becomes self-fulfilling emotionally.
yada yada.
i add about 6 of your posts together and maybe I can get one coherent on-point post out of them. on a good day.

Perhaps, he could dumb them down for you, would that help? It doesn’t help Trump. Nothing is coherant to him. I love when they televise his round table meetings. The meeting on DACA is a classic.yada yada.

The left has no shame. In a normal world, these dimwits would have been laughed at, and he'd be nominated a week later. But since the left has hijacked the media, they are able to hold the country hostage, and spread fake news.

Not true.
"In an interview, her husband, Russell Ford, said that in the 2012 sessions, she recounted being trapped in a room with two drunken boys, one of whom pinned her to a bed, molested her and prevented her from screaming. He said he recalled that his wife used Kavanaugh’s last name and voiced concern that Kavanaugh — then a federal judge — might one day be nominated to the Supreme Court."
You'd think Democrats would be smart enough to disassociate themselves from drunken sluts like Ford.
I'm sorry....if you are trying to impress us with evidence of her credibility, a spouse doesn't have wings...Not true.

I’ve heard the unemployment rate among comedians has reached 0% since Trump was inaugurated. LOL Trump finally found a way to put Americans to work! LOL
