Do you guys even know what's in an FBI background check? They do a criminal record check, a fingerprint check, a credit history report. Those who are getting classified or national security info also have background checks that include interviews with friends, relatives and neighbors of prospective employees. These interviews are conducted in person by an FBI agent. Top Secret clearance includes all the requirements at the Secret level and a background investigation covering a 10-year time period.

I haven't heard anything about Kavanaugh having a top secret clearance with all this vetting.

It goes to the local jurisdiction, not the FBI.
The only reason the drive-by media started this whole "We want the FBI to investigate" mantra is because they and the Dems KNOW the FBI can't do it. It would go to the locals for criminal charges and the left knows that these accusers don't have any evidence or corroboration to get the job done.
So, the left just keeps deliriously screaming FBI INVESTIGATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
