She said what any officer of the law would. Ford should run down to the nearest police department and file her charges immediately. Then, maybe, someone can slap her with reality or we can presume there is some seriousness to her spurious claims. Obviously, an open-ended question like that isn't a lie, it's an invitation for information. Shouldn't it tell you something that when challenged to identify a lie, you have to fumble for things that by definition cannot be lies?
The behavior being alleged is serious. Ford has claimed that she was groped, that Kavanaugh attempted to forcibly undress her, and that he pinned her down and covered her mouth when she tried to yell for help. That's very serious. Now, if you want to say "yes, what she claimed was serious, but I think she made it up," fine. But, obviously, that's different from saying "there was nothing 'serious' about these claims."
She is a highly accomplished professional and a family woman with no criminal record, no history of making claims that were later debunked, etc. And she is someone who has managed to substantiate that her story predates the nomination. That all makes her a credible witness.
If that's your standard for a lack of credibility, would you agree that Brett Kavanaugh is not credible?
There's a famous old line about the definition of Chutzpah being when someone kills his parents and then pleads for mercy on the basis of being an orphan.
This reminded me a bit of that, since she attributes her psychological distress to the attack. If we were to view such psychological pain as disqualifying for a witness, it would be an incentive for attackers to be sure they were cruel enough to mess their victims up mentally, so the victims wouldn't be seen as credible.
We should have Judge testify under oath, so we know what the person she claims was there says, when under pains of perjury. For some reason, the Republicans really don't want that to happen.
The alleged victim came forward and was willing to testify. How do you think the Democrats should have reacted? Should they have told her that there's a process and she has no right to be heard publicly?

If you have confidence in your arguments, shouldn't you be eager to hear the responses to your questions, rather than trying so desperately to avoid having them responded to? Anyway, any time someone accuses a person of misconduct, that hurts the reputation. Either the accusation is true or not, and neither of us knows for sure. If it helps you to see it from the other direction, think of the same thing in terms of Paula Jones's accusation that Bill Clinton once exposed himself to her. Were you demanding to know how he gets his life back after that?
Do you see the hypocrisy of your bleating about the attacks on his reputation, while in the next breath you accuse her of being 'drunken,' 'psychotic,' and a 'trollop'? How is she to restore her reputation in the face of such blind slurs?
Actually, it's been independently confirmed by multiple individuals that she brought up the accusation before his nomination.
