the FBI can do investigations allt he time that aren't pubic. that isn't the issue. why didn't the democrats let republicans know about this 60 days ago?

If you really care about not having in your belief a sexual assaulter on the supreme court, why wait this long in the process? why not let republicans withdraw him assuming they would have had more time with someone else that didn't have this baggage?
 
The FBI can do far, far more than that. Those players and others will provide other information that will be followed up and open up more routes.

The FBI will do a better job then my research, it’s their job. Getting a phone call from a White House staffer doesn’t have the same feel as a guy with a badge showing up on your door. It’s a real truth serum.

Republicans sat on a Supreme Court nomination for 7 months .. now they're in a hurry to confirm theirs?

as I said, you could do a confidential, private investigation. this did not happen. I suppose you think it's just a coincidence though that this leaked the day after the confirmation hearing almost 2 weeks ago.
