I guess it depends on how offended you want to be. One of my grandfathers was 1/2 Cherokee. I see it more in my cousins as my litter took after the other side of the family other than a couple of us can get really really dark tans in summer pretty readily. I'm not offended, but as I have already stated, to me it is more trivia than important.
That's not how it works. No offense, but tans and statements of heritage are not appropriate claims of Native Heritage. Native Americans here these things regularly.
I work with confederated tribes. Trust me, Warren's claim is an insult. The only good of it is that it has drawn attention to the issue and provided real tribal members a venue to address it.
