I'll try to help.

In simple arithmetic:

Maximum means the biggest number.
Average means you add all the numbers and divide that by the number you added.

For example:

Where the massive Carr fire was in northern CA, their AVERAGE summer temps are in the mid to upper 90s.
In the warmest part of Finland, Helsinki, the MAXIMUM temp they have EVER experienced was 89. In 1945. :rofl2:
