HUGE!! Trump to end birthright citizenship!!!

You mean Article V cases? You said none have occurred yet have determined how the word would apply in one of them.

I stated how the word has sometimes been applied in the Constitution. What makes you think it would be applied differently in Article V from other provisions in the Constitution that used the word "shall."

You stated it on a different issue. You admitted it was a different issue.

That didn't answer the question. Why do you think "shall" can be interpreted as "may" in other constitutional provisions but not Article V?

You're the one that say it would yet admitted you have no cases where it has. Prove your claim.

Nope.

Holy Link and fake news discarded.

Fake news? It was a video clip with an interview with Trump. So, anything fake came from Trump's mouth. He said he wanted to issue an executive order to end birthright citizenship.

I can see the problem when you do not even read/watch the posts you are replying to.

Still waiting for a reference about the JFK executive order establishing birthright citizenship.

See the numerous cases and citations I posted previously.

"When my father said “shall,” we all knew what he meant. When my teachers said “shall,” we all knew what they meant. And when the Lord said “shall” in the Ten Commandments, we all knew what that meant. In the old days, “shall” meant “shall.”

“Not so,” says Justice Antonin Scalia.

In Castle Rock vs. Gonzales, the Supreme Court took the meaning of the word “shall” and redefined it to mean “maybe or maybe not.” Such a distortion is perplexing at best.

Did that case deal with Article V?

Harvesting in a trade war: U.S. crops rot as storage costs soar

(Reuters) - U.S. farmers finishing their harvests are facing a big problem - where to put the mountain of grain they cannot sell to Chinese buyers. For Louisiana farmer Richard Fontenot and his ...

"Drain the swamp".

Hint:
In 2020 don't vote for a metaphor.

the Chinese buy Brazilian beans......the people who would have bought Brazilian beans beans can't, and buy US beans.....prices are down about 10%......

Your posted comment does not refute the Reuters quotation. I suspect most of us understand economics 101, supply & demand.

The problem is, these international trade relations stabilized over many harvest cycles.

And while 10% may seem trivial to you, 10% for many farmers is the difference between sustained viability, and $failure. Bankruptcy.

No body wants Trump to succeed at delivering free & fair trade more than me.

I absolutely support his apparent intention. It's his method that's most alarming.

Welcome to the Trump trade war.
I'll leave it to you to count the casualties.

Which is being converted into a different statement than what Trump actually said. Fake news.

No, he didn't.

I don't waste much of my time with the same old propaganda.
Still waiting for a reference about the JFK executive order establishing birthright citizenship.
He didn't. You seem to have taken everything I said and myopically changed it to 'birthright citizenship'.

Trump didn't start this trade war.

But he will finish it.

No, I told you I do not know any Article V cases. I was only discussing the meaning of shall.

What make you think "shall" would be interpreted differently in Article V from other provisions in the Constitution or federal or state law?
