Brexit Plan Vote

It is the idiocy that was to be expected from the start of this ludicrous saga. The chances of Parliament voting for a no-deal Brexit are very slim.. With any luck, the MPs will remember what they are for, stop being bullied by European style fascist mobs with their European-style plebicites, and vote as sense and conscience dictate!

Parliament cannot force the EU to accept that which is tolerable to the British. The EU has solid reason to take a pound of flesh out of the british arse to discourage other members from breaking away as well. The odds of a no deal Brexit are far higher than slim.

No, of course it can't. What I want is for a traditionally British representative democracy to vote to stay in the EU, not this bullying rule by the ignorant and insensate rabble.

Representative democracy puts the ignorant and insensate rabble in charge. Otherwise, it is enlightened despotism.

No it doesn't, not ever. The electorate chooses representatives who are expected to know what's going on and vote according to their consciences. The current howling bullies seldom vote in normal times: they are too thick for politics.

They are to represent the interests of their howling bullies. But hey, put Corbyn in charge. He wants to abolish the House of Lords so the unclean masses will have even more power over you. That will work out marvelous for you.

No they aren't - they're there to represent the national interest, and if the electorate don't like what they do, they vote for the Opposition. The current eruption of bullies was enabled by Cameron in an attempt to settle the deep tory feud about Europe, and called up people who would normally be in prison or drunk. Mr Corbyn wants the working class to be the major political force, and the current tory mob doesn't ever work for long, and is too stupid for normal voting.

Mr. Corbyn doesn't even have an alternate brexit proposal and if Labour were to return to power (which it won't anytime soon) it would more likely be David Miliband or some other similar type in charge, not Corbyn.

Why should I get worked up about it? Representative democracy is a device whereby the idle ignorance of the brainwashed mass under capitalism is somewhat negated by making a minority of persons take serious responsibility for decisions. Otherwise you get constant swings between dictatorship and mass terror. The other possibility is a seriously engaged working class concerned with its own interest, but the rich are working all out to stop that, as we know.
 
No, iolo is not an asshole, just a true republican, albeit he wants the extreme form of republicanism: representatives unrestrained by constituents' concerns.
 
Now that May's plan is officially toast, a hard brexit just became an even harder brexit. Keep it up and Corbyn will deliver you the hardest possible brexit #LabourIsThirsty
 
At elections, the candidates put forward their opinions and proposals, the electors choose between them, and any sensible representative takes account of their later serious preoccupations: he/she is there is there to represent their considered wishes, not their momentary whims as they are worked on by the brainwashers. If the electors have come to hate conscientious choice, they vote out the representative and put in a fascist. That is how it works.
