Most Rich People don't rob Gas Stations and commit Burglaries. Those Crimes are usually committed by Poor People. There's probably more, percentage wise, of Black Poor People than White Poor People.
So, it could be easy to confuse these Crimes with 'Black' Poor People than just 'Poor People' in general.

Jack old buddy. Get out a little more. Take some time off. Take a few weeks, take the family, drive around the country. I guarantee it will be quite an eye opener. Any kindness you will experience will certainly be from conservatives, not liberals.
We're talking about a possible Burglary suspect here. I would guess more Poor People commit Home Burglaries than Rich People. It's easy to conflate 'Poor People' with 'Black People'.

It is an extremely liberal city, liberal police, liberal everything in Boulder. That is not even counting the extremely liberal student body at CU.

I would say in the past 30 years it has been the most liberal. Back in the 70's almost everywhere in CO was cowtown/independent type thinking. Since then, Boulder has gone extremely liberal and CO Springs extremely conservative. The city of Denver is more liberal since gentrification, but the various suburbs around it are all over the board. The legalization of MJ has been great for state revenues and to help cops focus on other areas that are more pressing. Unfortunately, being one of the first states to legalize also means we got a huge influx of 'homeless' people who are now a problem. (though not nearly as bad as San Fran... because holy fuck your city is a shit hole now)
I went to an all-white High School. My third year, a black guy enrolled. He immediately became the Class President and Captain of the Football Team. The white school population along with all the white administration was SO EAGER to demonstrate their non-racist attitude that they bent over backwards to prove it.
I'm guessing this same attitude would exist in Colorado. Is the Mayor Black? How about the Chief of Police? When you're one in a thousand, everybody wants to be your friend.
(If the ratio is 500 to 500, then ... not so much)

Black people aren't fooled. We know that law enforcement is a racist white male entity that the entire white races has adopted.

While I do agree that sentencing is definitely biased in favor of white people (and the rich), but the party that supposedly supports black people (but actually doesn't) is the one that runs Boulder.
I do think the problem needs to be addressed in terms of sentencing, retroactively in the case of non violent drug related sentences. (which is currently being done in CO on MJ charges of the past)
The point I was making is not 'only liberals do it'... but more so pointing out the party that supposedly helps black people doesn't actually live up to that. They fail miserably.
