Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blocked a resolution that called for special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election to be publicly released for the second time this week.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee and a member of the Intelligence Committee, tried to get unanimous consent for the Senate to pass the resolution, which cleared the House in a 420-0 vote.
"The fact is that a four-page summary cannot possibly illuminate what this thorough of an investigation uncovered. I find it so disappointing that so many are rushing to judgement without being able to see the full report or all of the underlying facts," Feinstein said from the Senate floor.
But McConnell objected to her request to pass the nonbinding resolution, noting that Attorney General William Barr is currently working with Mueller to determine what in the report should or should not be released.
"I have consistently supported the proposition that his report ought to be released to the greatest extent possible, consistent with the law. … I think we should be consistent in letting the special counsel actually finish his work and not just when we think it may be politically advantageous to one side or the other," McConnell added.

Because, democrats are being stupid by making this a political issue. They are saying, Barr should not have the time to abide by the law and release it now. This, the democrats are making it out as if Barr and Republicans are hiding something, when in reality both Republicans and Barr want it released in compliance with the law.
Democrats want to ignore the law for political advantages.

So the Special Counsel isn't finished?
So then why did he send his report to Barr?
And what is the political advantage that would come from the report being released in full?

What does that have to do with one side (presumably the Democrats) getting a political advantage from a report you say clears Trump?
What is unclear is why Barr could read and summarize the report in under 48 hours, yet cannot expedite the process to clear the report for full disclosure?
OR they're actually hiding something and are coming up with weak sauce excuses why they won't disclose the full report.
Barr could read it and summarize it in under 48 hours, so why can't he also expedite the clearance of "sensitive issues" so the report can be fully disclosed?
Why was there urgency to summarize the report, but not urgency to disclose it?
