That shit is hitting the fan

I would have dropped more than one F-bomb in the face of the bullshit they were trying to pull.

Honestly, I’m pretty pissed about it myself and I just voted for the man. I’m pulling for Barr to go after some real criminals.

That's not the point, Darthy. Why would he say "this is the end of my presidency, I'm f*cked" if there was nothing shifty going on?

He could have said " F*ck them and bring it on." Instead he tried to shut it down.

He keeps implying he did. As well as the other lefties on this board. If they did they can either not read or cannot comprehend anything that resembles the truth.

I’ll admit to not reading it.

I’m lazy—I’ll just wait for the pundits to read it and the discussion-worthy parts of it will come out eventually lol. Then we can take turns making OP’s on it. It’s not like we get paid to do this crap.

But then I wasn’t claiming there’d be any earth shaking revelations in it, either. So no, I haven’t read it.

I like your honesty DBO.

Maybe because they damn near pulled off their soft-coup lol? I don’t care what he said.

Do you have any idea how much trouble some people can be in if Barr is able to prove a conspiracy to illicitly unseat a sitting president?

True enough. We've been saying everything the report says for 2 years already. For us it's more of a confirmation than a revelation. ;)

This is what I mean when I call righties "RWNJs", these fantasies of coups and conspiracies. I would welcome Barr or anybody starting an investigation on this, but don't think it will happen because it's bizarre.

You undoubtedly stood on the sidelines cheering in 1998 as a president who actually won the popular vote in a blow out, was targeted for impeachment and removal from office by Republicans for lying about a blowjob with a consenting female.

Some of us weren’t loony when we were saying the Russian investigation would come up a crapper in the end.

You should be prepared to welcome Barr’s investigation.

You guys keep talking about the Russia business and ignore the obstruction part. I guess because the conclusion on this is a little fuzzier lol.

That shit is hitting the fan

One of two things will happen, Trump will be impeached or a very dangerous precedent will be set in the United States.

Clearly Trump knew it was wrong to order Don McGahn to fire Mueller, because he lied about it to the American people.

Analysis

In analyzing the President's conduct related to Cohen, the following evidence is relevant to the elements of obstruction of justice.

a. Obstructive act. We gathered evidence of the President's conduct related to Cohen on two issues: (i) whether the President or others aided or participated in Cohen's false statements to Congress, and (ii) whether the President took actions that would have the natural tendency to prevent Cohen from providing truthful information to the government.

i. First, with regard to Cohen ' s false statements to Congress, while there is evidence , described below, that the President knew Cohen provided false testimony to Congress about the Trump Tower Moscow project, the evidence available to us does not establish that the President directed or aided Cohen's false testimony.

There was only POTENTIAL for obstruction.
There was no evidence beyond a reasonable doubt of intent to obstruct; nothing rose to the level of prosecution.
Trump never executed executive privilege and never requested any redactions.
Trump gave full cooperation, WH gave 1.4 million pages in documents, the Special Counsel was satisfied.

In this investigation, the evidence does not establish that the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference. But the evidence does point to a range of other possible personal motives animating the President's conduct. These include concerns that continued investigation would call into question the legitimacy of his election and potential uncertainty about whether certain events-such as advance notice of WikiLeaks's release of hacked information or the June 9, 2016 meeting between senior campaign officials and Russians* could be seen as criminal activity by the President, his campaign , or his family.

And, as a result, the Special Council was deprived of a legal basis to interview Trump.

Aka escaping Mullet’s perjury trap. That was a brilliant move on someone’s part.

This is simply showing the sausage being made, activity being investigated. All of which lead up to the final "no collusion, conspiracy, etc."

12 of the 14 investigations still continue, and the collusion and obstruction charges are being investigated elsewhere.

The rwnj soft coup failed today.

Mueller Report: Who and What the Special Counsel Investigated
More than two years of criminal indictments and steady revelations about Trump campaign contacts with Russians reveal the scope of the special counsel investigation.

Trump frames the report as exoneration.
said on Twitter. “We are now requesting Mueller to appear before @HouseJudiciary as soon as possible.”

Senator Chris Murphy, Democrat of Connecticut, said Mr. Barr’s performance demonstrated fealty to Mr. Trump. “Attorney General Barr is supposed to be the nation’s top impartial lawyer, not a White House spokesman,” he said. “His press conference was just an attempt to spin a report nobody has read yet, and that’s really disappointing.”

Democratic presidential candidates quickly pounced on Mr. Barr as well. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, in a tweet, labeled the attorney general’s remarks as “spin.” Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts said it was “ a disgrace to see an Attorney General acting as if he’s the personal attorney and publicist for the president of the United States.” Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York called Mr. Barr’s news conference “a complete farce and an embarrassing display of propaganda on behalf of President Trump.”

Color-coded redactions leave readers wondering what was left out.
While attention focused on what was in Mr. Mueller’s report, many in Washington were also looking at what was left out.

Mr. Barr made what he called “limited” redactions to the report, taking out information he deemed sensitive. More than a dozen pages were fully redacted, or nearly so. Other pages had sections of text blacked out, including full paragraphs.

Much of the undisclosed material was in the first section of the report on Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and its interactions with the Trump campaign. Far less was scrubbed from the second part of the report, on whether Mr. Trump obstructed justice.
