The chain of custody is irreparably fucked here. Unless the Washington Free Beacon can be subpoenaed to produce an independent copy of the document in question or someone who can attest under oath to their contents, there's no way to establish the provenance or authenticity of a computer file "discovered" on a hard drive belonging to a dead person that's passed through the hands of several people including parties to litigation.
They subpoenaed the files in February and waited until well after oral arguments to produce it? Does that pass the smell test? If you're an experienced, well-funded litigant and you had what is potentially the mother of all smoking guns fall into your hands on a case, wouldn't you make damn sure that you put as many people on it as are necessary to complete document review in a timely manner?
When they (allegedly) discovered these documents, they should have promptly sought to subpoena the Washington Free Beacon to corroborate their authenticity. The fact that they apparently did not suggests to me that this is another Kavanaugh nomination-style, 11th hour bad faith attempt to influence or delay a politically-important vote. Ostensibly weighty claim that if true is material and deserves to be investigated made too late in the process to be properly investigated without delaying the vote - sound familiar? Just like with Kavanaugh, they're rolling the dice on whether a mere allegation of gross impropriety will be enough to flip a swing vote (Roberts), which is why they waited until after oral arguments didn't go their way to pull this stunt.

Calling out racism is not racist.
I'm being truthfull when I say white people in this country have stood by and watched the racist white man destroy Black and brown communities.
And for that, I hold them accountable.
Instead of being upset about it and telling ME to change, you should get with other white people and take action to right the wrongs done to minorities in this country.
There are a whole host of laws on the books that are discriminatory and directed at Black and brown people.

The Supreme Court has been ruling on every state gerrymandering case as being unconstitutional- but only in the states that files a
a lawsuit challenging the gerrymandering in that state. Red states certainly are not going to file those kinds of lawsuits.
The Supreme Court cannot create law, so if Gerrymandering is ever going to be eliminated, it much come from a bill passed in Congress and signed by the president to make it illegal in every state. Well, the Democrats have not had that kind of alignment in the stars to rule the Legislative and Executive branches to be able to declare Gerrymandering Illegal in every state.
2020 will be a great chance to realign all the stars to get this passed, so that our democratic process and voter's rights can be carried out without the trickery of gerrymandering.
