Poll: Do you support slavery reparations?

The American people are solidly against illegally confiscating the wealth of those who have done nothing wrong and giving it to people who were never slaves...because it's blatantly immoral, divisive, and racist. The vast majority of poor people in America are white. "White privilege" is a myth invented by the only actual racists involved, who create racism where it never existed by fighting imaginary racism with actual racism at every turn.

As Democrats debate reparations for slavery, polls suggest Americans are not convinced

A Fox News poll in April found that 60 percent of Americans oppose paying cash reparations to descendants of slaves, while just 32 percent support it. A Rasmussen poll in the same month found that just 21 percent of likely voters think taxpayers should pay reparations to black Americans who can prove they are descended from slaves.

However, in a finding that could put 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls in a bind, the Fox poll found that among Democratic primary voters, 54 percent said they were likely to support a candidate who backed reparations, while 33 percent said they were not likely.

Additionally, Data For Progress found in a poll last year that while the measure had only 26 percent of Americans in favor, it had net positive support among voters under 45. A Point-Taken Marist poll in 2016 found that while 68 percent of Americans were opposed to reparations, 6 in 10 black Americans [who make up only 13% of the population] said they were in favor.

And there are hundreds of examples of Democrat political violence going on RIGHT NOW. So according to your logic, all liberals should now have to pay conservatives.

And? Lots of people in the past were been treated unfairly from all walks of life in every corner of the world. Life is unfair. Doesn't entitle other people to anything. The solution is to stop being a crybaby, grow up, and take responsibility for your own station in life.

They are given jobs and educational opportunities that white people are more qualified for, contracts that white people earned, etc. They are ALREADY given blatantly racist (and illegal) preferential treatment at everyone else's expense at every turn. By punishing other people who had no hand in it just for LOOKING LIKE other people who did the injuring? Blatantly stupid logic...and unconstitutional. And no, blacks are not still experiencing this injury, dishonest demagogue. They are already getting BEYOND equal treatment NOW, which is ALREADY completely immoral and racist. Cranking the discrimination up to 10 with slavery reparations is moving a hundred steps in the wrong direction. EQUALITY should be the goal, not vengeance...and equality happened a long time ago.

Republicans started out fighting to liberate blacks from Democrats, from the Civil War all the way up through segregation...and then stopped once equality was achieved. Democrats started out lynching and enslaving blacks, and now fight for racist preferential treatment on their behalf. There is literally no point in this country's history in which Democrats have ever once stood for actual equality...and no point at which Republicans HAVEN'T supported actual equality.
