Weapons of war that are designed to kill lots of people in as fast as a way possible do not belong in society. They will be used and misused. They make us all less safe.
Gun lovers are prioritizing gun ownership over the rights of people to live in relative peace.

No military in the world uses semiautomatic rifles, and the AR-15 is no deadlier than any other semiautomatic weapon. A simple .22 rifle will kill you just as dead. But we knew libs would dodge the question.

It is extremely curious that teabaggers have suddenly and very belatedly become reticent to call these things assault rifles.
Teabaggers have spent message board careers claiming the 2nd amendment allows them to be prepared to overthrow a tyrannical government by military force if necessary.
If you are going to play Rambo and take on the armed forces of a tyrannical government, surely you would need weaponry that at least approximates military capability in range, ammo capacity, ballistics, , aka assault rifles.
