Shoppers spend $4.2 billion online on Thanksgiving, a 14.5% increase from last year and a record high, according to data released by Adobe.

Black Friday online sales are on track to hit $7.4 billion as of 9 a.m. ET.

Sure it does. Sadly in a way. If the economy is good, people have extra monies. Of course they spend it, and not save it. It is however a sign of a good economy. This good economy happens to be under President Trump (R).

The factor that matters revolves solely around retailers and product companies. What deals there are and what new gizmos, gadgets, and toys are released. For example, one thing I can tell you is the gigantic video game franchise of Pokemon just came out with their new game. It was the first on the new and more expensive game system. It sold more than any previous game in its first week. And that was after the boycotts. To put it simply, the biggest factor was inovation and deals. You also can't give Trump credit for the economy since it's just been a continuing trend. It's been the same ups and downs since it restabilized coming off the recession. If someone had an effect where credit is due it wouldn't be following trend. You can't really give anyone in the government credit for anything except not screwing things up.

I agree with the bolded part. That goes for any politician. Even with deals though if one does not have the money, they do not buy. Generally anyway.

Anecdotal but my sister-in-law does an amazing job of spending money she doesn’t have. Lots of credit card debt and she makes minimum payments. Sadly I suspect she’s not alone in her spending habits.

Seems over the last couple of generations fiscal responsibility has not been taught at schools, nor at home. I have no idea where people started thinking that being in debt up to your ass is "wealth".

Sorry when you quote online sales figures you also have to take into account the stores walk in business, which in most cases has declined. Its the total number that counts, not just a part of the sales numbers.

So you do not have them. That is all you had to say. They were up 2.3% on Black Friday. Down for the year though. It will interesting to see what happens today with cyber Monday. Either way, most if not all retailers have an online presence. Brick and mortar sales may be down, though total sales are up. This is not rocket science.

All I have to say to anyone of you, is: Buy more seafood. American seafood. Lots of it. You crave it. You desire it. Money is not object....all year long........
