OK, I have been passively watching all of this "gloom and doom" talk the past couple of weeks. My question is, "Where is the leader who can reassure the American people (and by and large the rest of the world) that things will work themselves out?" It hasn't been George Bush. It hasn't been John McCain. It hasn't been Barak Obama. No one seems to want to take the bull by the horns and say anything seemingly positive like they mean it. I italicized that last part because I have seen all three men try to be positive but none of them convinces me that they mean it.
I know that I will get blasted by some for this but with Reagan you had a leader. You had someone who could make you feel better about the situation no matter how bleak it may have looked. Things may have worked out for him so that he appears to be better than he actually was to fools like me but I never felt the doom and gloom (that seems to be gripping this country now) when he was president.
