Chuck Todd: ‘I Don’t Understand How Bernie’s Considered a Frontrunner’

Hello Casual Leftist,

The best case would be if Bernie had a significant following in Congress. These movements take time. Bernie is too old. And he doesn't have a pretty face made for TV. His ideas are great and he has done a great job of forwarding the message. That was his mission and it is accomplished. A coalition needs to be built. Bernie has paved the way for others to follow. The movement grows. It is a young movement. It has to be nurtured and grown more. It's not time yet. AOC will be old enough Elses to run for President beginning in 2024. Even if it's not time for her, there will be others, more AOC's. Good things are worth waiting for. Right now we have to vote blue no matter who so we can make sure there is fair representation in how the districts are redrawn. If we let Republicans sweep in the down ticket election, we are going to be even more hopelessly gerrymandered for ANOTHER TEN YEARS.

Redistricting only happens once a decade. We progressives lost out on the last one. We can't lose out again. Democrats must maintain a majority in the House. We cannot let IMPOTUS sweep the down ticket on coat tails.

We need Bernie to stay right where he is in the US Senate. He has built a powerful Senate position. Only he can hold that office and represent those needs the way he does.

If Bernie was polling at 70% it would be no issue. Even 60%. But to be down in the 20's and teen's is not a movement that is ready to sweep the nation. There is too much resistance and Bernie would lose the mushy middle.

Even if he got elected he would be only a one term president, unable to get anything done because he has no strong support in Congress. He would cause Republicans to want to reelect IMPOTUS in 2024. They would call Bernie a do-nothing and claim IMPOTUS got things done.

We have to vote blue no matter who. If it's Bernie we all get behind him, fine, but if it's somebody else we all have to get behind that person. The main thing is to get rid of IMPOTUS.
Horse mierda, Snowflake.

Bernies’ ideas are repugnant to freedom loving people.

No incrementalism.

There is no Socialism light.

If you love Socialism, emigrate to Venezuela...bring food and batteries.

The Democrats are terrified that the old Socialist, Bernie will be the nominee.

Most of America is terrified too.

I wonder how far they'll go to stop Bernie.

Democratic voters don't HAVE to support Bernie because he screams the party hates him

he can just quit the party like he DOES ALL THE TIME

Right before an election he wants to run in he switches to the Democratic party

then when He loses the election he LEAVES THE PARTY IMMEDIATELY

He then begins trashing the party for NOT licking his ass

FUCK BERNIE

Hello Casual Leftist,

The best case would be if Bernie had a significant following in Congress. These movements take time. Bernie is too old. And he doesn't have a pretty face made for TV. His ideas are great and he has done a great job of forwarding the message. That was his mission and it is accomplished. A coalition needs to be built. Bernie has paved the way for others to follow.

Progressives have not drawn the districts for 50 years. We can't lose out again. We have a chance this time. Democrats must maintain a majority in the House. We cannot let IMPOTUS sweep the down ticket on coat tails to repeat this redistricting stranglehold yet again.

Most of the country thought the Impeachment trial was a sham. Republicans voted in fear of being tweet-shamed, not based on evidence or determination of guilt. The real impeachment vote comes on November 3rd.

That will be when the nation will cast the ultimate impeachment ballot on conviction or acquittal.

The republican party uses lies and voter suppression

Bernie allowed his crowd to believe those lies and refused to help other Democratic members get elected

and yet again he is refusing to help raise money for people running for other seats

"bernies ideas"

were not thpught up by him

they are ideas that have been around for a very long time

He doesn't own them

he didn't copy write them

he chose them

we don't need him to chose them

But we're not dealing with rational minds....these are the folks who equate any form of socialism with the regimes of communist China and the old Soviet Union (they ignore socialism in our allied European countries), yet they have NO problem with the "two big to fail" attitudes of our "capitalist, free market" government. :dunno:

Yes I agree. The extremists have been in control for a while.

Democratic voters don't HAVE to support Bernie because he screams the party hates him

So the whole "blue no matter who" stuff is a lie?

he can just quit the party like he DOES ALL THE TIME

And yet the DNC loves Bloomberg who is a Republican?

Right before an election he wants to run in he switches to the Democratic party

I don't understand the nature of your criticism. He works with mostly just Democrats, he' in their circles and he knows a 3rd party run would only help the GOP.

then when He loses the election he LEAVES THE PARTY IMMEDIATELY

This is the kind of tribalism party loyalty that the GOP fetishizes, it's not a good look fam.

He then begins trashing the party for NOT licking his ass

Hyperbole. He endorsed and campaign for Hillary after losing.

FUCK BERNIE

Well have fun running a moderate to lose against him then.

You hate the Democratic party remember

you hate Adam Shiff

you hate Nancy Pelosi

you hate Barack Obama

remember

You said the democratic party is evil and as bad as the republican party

You hate the party that is saving us

you only like Bernie remember

Are you saying that it's practical and possible for the US government to deport every single illegal in the country?

And what makes a crime avoidable?

1) not the issue.....what we are discussing is the deportation of a person IN CUSTODY for breaking a second law in this country.......it is practical, it is possible, and it is appropriate to deport that illegal.....

2) the crime that is avoidable is the third one that the illegal immigrant might commit AFTER the sanctuary city releases them improperly instead of letting CBP take them into custody and deport them......

AND...He's a genuine FDR Progressive. They do not get more Democratic than that.

Their grandparents supported it. These problems exist over 100 years ago and our generational memory must refresh. The service economy is huge and its paid at low wages. Without the labor union bargaining chip there's no hope for fair wages. The stock market and their ever need to go higher has surpassed the desire to benefit society.

Biden has a terrible policy record when it's actually dug into.

A very easy thing to google. Delaware the credit card state.

There's a reason the service industry is paid low wages. It has to do with the level, or lack thereof, of skills. It's like anything else. When you have a surplus of something, it doesn't have a value as much it would if there were less of it or even a shortage. When you have people doing "service industry" jobs, something most people can do simply by existing, those jobs aren't going to pay much.

The best case would be if Bernie had a significant following in Congress. These movements take time. Bernie is too old. And he doesn't have a pretty face made for TV.

Yes, that would be the best case, but for now we should be happy with Bernie and 'the squad'. It's the beginning yes, Bernie is an old man planting seeds for a tree whose shade he'll never feel.

His ideas are great and he has done a great job of forwarding the message. That was his mission and it is accomplished.

It's obviously not - he's running for President based on the importance of the message right now. Why do you think he's the front runner now?

Right now we have to vote blue no matter who so we can make sure there is fair representation in how the districts are redrawn. If we let Republicans sweep in the down ticket election, we are going to be even more hopelessly gerrymandered for ANOTHER TEN YEARS.

Oh no the American people (and millions of illegals) will choose Trump over a moderate Dem AGAIN??? Why do you think that? Down ballot stuff is a wash. If democrats throw everything away over Bernie they're just as childish as any claim against Bernie hold-outs for Hillary.

We need Bernie to stay right where he is in the US Senate.

No thank you, Warren can stay in the Senate. We need Bernie. Give me something better than Bernie - you can't - . I want New Deal populism. If you want to rally America around a global Depression and WW2 scope event? Rally against climate change and rampant poverty. Unite the nation in the christian virtue of helping the poor. Save the fuggin planet like a super hero nation for God's sake (sidenote start captain planet reboot, but gritty). It needs now and boldly done or our grandchildren's children will die by climate change events.

We have to vote blue no matter who. If it's Bernie we all get behind him, fine, but if it's somebody else we all have to get behind that person. The main thing is to get rid of IMPOTUS the Impeached POTUS.

Good I'm glad we agree on that.

Most of the country thought the Impeachment trial was a sham. Republicans voted in fear of being tweet-shamed, not based on evidence or determination of guilt. The real impeachment vote comes on November 3rd.

I think it shows that what the American people really want is in contrast to Trump - an honest man. Not to say Warren or Klobe can't have it one day - but Bernie's the obvious front runner, he's gained the most money in general with the most individual donors - that's future voters right there.
