The guy does not know enough about Christianity to realize it is NOT a happy holiday. You do not wish people to enjoy "Jesus got tortured and crucified today."

Since Trump isn't really a Christian, his error can be seen as pure ignorance.

OTOH, Jesus was sent by God to die on the cross for our sins so, yes, it's "Good News" Jesus was crucified.
