I still find it unfathomable what you destroy all confederate symbols think you are accomplishing.

Oh I have heard all the BS talking points about not honoring traitors. But if you think about it the north and the south had two distinctly different economies and life styles. So even if one flag flew over the nation in reality it was two separate nations based on economics, life styles, beliefs. Many people back then didn't look at themselves as Americans they looked at themselves as northerners or southerners. When slavery became an issue many if not most southerners thought the north was trying to destroy their way of life and opposed a central government in the north. So they rebelled. Yes it was treason but the south didn't see that way. Hell even today many liberals look down on the south.

the numbers from everything like HS grad percent and college grad percents to infant mortality to poverty are why we northerners look down on the south. Confederate statues/monuments stand smack dab in the way of racial healing. You describe the south in the 1850's correctly but it is 2020 now and those attitudes are unacceptable. I will put it for you simple...honoring losers is moronic

But your post is very telling. As you say this is 2020 yet Northern attitudes of superiority still exist after the war to unite a fractured country. You brag how northern states have a higher percentage of college degree holders however you fail to mention:

Finally you cite Poverty rates are higher in the south. Again you omit some of the reasons.

1st off "we" aren't honoring anyone. The statues show us how wrong the south was. You worry so much about traitors being honored! How about the memorial to a real traitor Benedict Arnold. You have your panties in a wad because there is a statue of a Southern soldier but not a word about a real traitor! Laughing my ass off Mason wants to hang a man who has been dead for well over 100 years.

Lee was a much worse traitor the Arnold,caused thousands of American deaths
