That's the old way. We are finally moving beyond that. This is part of how we do it as a nation. The people who put those statues up are gone. The people who are here now are looking at them and saying that's not who we are.

This is part of how we break the cross-generational loop. The confederate statues have to come down. Offensive stuff has to come down. It's not a big deal. It's not hurting anybody to redecorate the place.

The new way is we want a country that is not offensive to anybody. We want attitudes to change.

The only thing we want curtailed is hatred. Let's create a diverse nation where everybody is valued and there is no hatred. It's a good goal.

You're comparing Jesus to confederate leaders, many of whose statues were put up by bitter losers who wanted some way to still assert white supremacy?

I swear; the stuff you guys get worked up over. And then when it comes to blacks being disproportionately targeted by law enforcement, it's all "no big deal - they should just rise above it."

Yes, that would be the goal, and news flash, we are in trouble right now and it is not because of people who want to move beyond hatred. We would not be having these problems at all if it were not for the hatred. We have to find a way to end hatred. Yes, it's a lofty goal and we might not succeed during anybody's life who is living now, but that is no reason to give up. There's no deadline. This doesn't have to happen overnight. We know it has to take time. But we know we have to do it. We have to make this our goal and we have to strive to achieve it. That's all we have to do. Try.

Each of us needs to try.

And any of us who thinks this is BS is probably part of the problem in some way.

It doesn't hurt anybody to treat everyone the same, not look down on anybody.

Give everybody a fair shot. What's the big deal? How does that hurt anybody?

It's not like blacks want retribution. They just want to be as free as whites. Just want a fair shot at the American Dream.

They need to get the same benefit of the doubt from police that a white person would get.

That's just a matter of higher quality of training and oversight. And if that costs a bit more so be it. Then we should pay for it. It will probably end up saving more than it costs because then we would not have to try as many people, would not have to lock up as many people, would not have to manage as many people on parole and probation, etc.

Ever hear of the school-to-prison pipeline? It is a disturbing national trend wherein children are funneled out of public schools and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Many of these children have learning disabilities or histories of poverty, abuse, or neglect, and would benefit from additional educational and counseling. Prison is one of the most costly methods of providing education and counseling there is. We tax payers are getting a bad deal. Just one aspect of a bigger picture.

They’re done with the confederates and the wokies are feeling their oats. Just within the past week they pulled down Jefferson and Francis Scott Key. They’re moving on.

Don’t underestimate them. I’m not comparing Jesus to anyone. The loon on Twitter thinks white Jesus needs to go next.

Something...something...white oppression. The thing about holding the Tigers tail is you have to let loose of it at some point.
