Why can’t we even have one leader [Trump included] stand up and say:
‘we are going to lose some people—but we know who the vulnerable population is. The risks for the rest of you is minimal. Let the vulnerable self-isolate. Or if they wish to risk it, they too can go on with their lives. The rest of us are going to press on. The survival of our very way of life is at stake.’
People would swarm to them.

Yep. I choose not to put my mom at risk. She had a heart surgery few months ago and it's risky at her age.
Its risky if she catches pneumonia it could kill her...but if she were to catch Covid it would be the main cause of death her heart would have nothing to do with it

Yep. I would love to visit her soon. She went to visit her sister in a nursing home recently. They were separated by glass. That was a major bummer.

So how is it that you (or any of you other anti-masker, COVID-is-a-hoax idiots) get to decide for ME? Why shouldn't I (or any other person) be free to go get groceries or other stuff without having to worry about some moron with COVID and no mask coughing in our faces? Why should our adult kids have to worry about sending their children to school because morons like you (group you) think that masks = Buchenwald?
This has nothing at all to do with freedom. It has to do with science-denying tards trying to make it about freedom... but only yours, not the rest of us and our right to be free of your diseases. You are impatient children who want this pandemic to be over yesterday, and you're not willing to mask up and give up drinking in crowded bars and clubs, going to casinos and indoor churches, smashing together on crowded planes, and so on -- for the short time it will take us to develop effective vaccines and treatments.
Basically your selfishness will cost more human lives. But you don't care, as long as you don't have to wear a mask and can get your nails done.

With few masks in sight, a dense crowd marched through downtown Berlin from the Brandenburg Gate.
Protesters who came from across the country held up homemade signs with slogans like “Corona, false alarm,” “We are being forced to wear a muzzle,” “Natural defense instead of vaccination" and “We are the second wave.”
They chanted, “We’re here and we’re loud, because we are being robbed of our freedom!”
Police used bullhorns to chide participants to adhere to social distancing rules and to wear masks, apparently with little success. They tweeted that they drew up a criminal complaint against the rally's organizer for failing to enforce hygiene rules, then said shortly afterward that the organizer had ended the march.
Police estimated about 17,000 people turned out. The demonstrators were kept apart from counterprotesters, some of whom chanted “Nazis out!”
