John Kasich on Real Time with Bill Maher and a message everyone should hear and heed

Nomad

Every trumper is a N4T.
This is a mostly unremarkable interview except for Maher's comments at the end.

Listen to what Maher says starting at exactly the 9:00 mark. He really nails it.

A message extremists and "all-or-nothing" types on both sides, the prog left included, should really listen to, think about and take heed of.

It's something I've said on a few occasions too, but it pretty much falls on deaf ears.

I hope people start getting sick of all this extreme partisanship soon and start returning to the sane middle.

Yes as we are, now we NEED to listen to the money from the paid 'money' class. The entertainment media, the talking heads that get that sweet, sweet money are telling us to just, just hope we can get their 'sweet' economical deal while we are in pandemic with no out in which most of the economy is supporting by entertainment.

Good example. The 1% likes that.

The rest of us, Fuck you.

Won't happen, the insane Left will never give up.

And you think the insane right will?

People like you are exactly the kind of partisan numbskulls Maher was talking about and the cause of the problem.

Fortunately, you don't live in our great country, so your dumbfuck partisan rwnj opinion means nowt.

Kasich is one of the reasons Trump was elected. The boy just doesn't learn.

No, the ignorant, partisan stupidity of low educated, low intellect right-wing morons was the reason Trump git elected.

Nothing more.

Reagan was an extremist. GW Bush was an extremist. Looks like it works.

You're a typical lying right wing gas bag.

Go back to the late 70's and look at the so-called "Moral Majority" led by the likes of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson who started the whole "take 'our country' back" nonsense and then in the 80's and 90's, right-wing loud mouth blowhards like Morton Downey Jr and Rush Limbaugh and you'll see who "started it".

No, Reagan was an extremist. Trump is merely following up on Reaganism.

Compared to the Trumptard right of today he was a moderate.

Disagree with his policies all you want, but in light of what we're seeing nowadays, he was nowhere near what Trump and his supporters are in terms of extremism and lack of willingness to compromise or cooperate.

Compromise and cooperation were not considered heresy or filthy words in the 80's.

And btw, aren't you a progressive?

If so, you're an extremist yourself, so.... no room to talk.

It was a good statement. I watched that episode on DVR this morning. I often don't agree with Maher (ever since Politically Incorrect ended) but he does come up with good points and this is one of them.

That's Trump's message to all of us. It has been recently proved with the fraud perpetrated by Trump's good friend Bannon.

The "sane middle" is partisan in its own way, it firmly rejects both left and right. The problem is hostility. American politics are driven by partisanship but until the last
two decades or so we've managed to be civil about it. With Trump, we've reached new levels of anger and intolerance. He's injected crudity along with them. Part of Biden's appeal, and a reason he'll get elected, is that civility could be the guy's middle name. The country is hungry for it
