No, it doesn't mean the same thing. Simply by virtue meaning his being the first black president is enough of a historically significant reason for him to be up there, though not necessarily the only reason. He'll give us plenty of other reasons as his presidency progresses.

I have said twice now that he'll give us plenty of other reasons eventually. If you guys wnat to keep claiming that I think the only reason he should be up there is because he's black and that somehow makes me a racist, then go ahead. It's clearly not what I intended.

Right now, it's enough of a historical reason that he's the first black president because of what that represents to put him up next to Lincoln. That'll change.
