What would they have to lose by going public with these assertions? They would be lionized by the press and people like you. There would be nothing to lose by going public

No one in a position to deny the story has done so. Bolton issued a statement yesterday that he didn't hear Trump say it but that he may not have been present when it happened. That puts him in my category. I wasn't present either and I didn't hear him say it.

Trump's usual circlejerks of sycophants are pleasuring themselves with defending him across the Net, as here. It's not what Trump needs but it's what he has. He might be in a real hole now.
